Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival in Zanzibar. Meet and greet at Zanzibar International Airport or Seaport. Transfer to any of the hotel booked in Stone Town and check in. The UNESCO heritage site – Stone Town with its narrow streets and historic Arab influenced buildings is the capital city of Zanzibar. You can spend by your own hours and hours just wandering the alleys and squares, drinking potent coffee sold by pavement vendors, or buying sweetmeats from scores of tiny cafés. Dinner and stay overnight in Stone Town.
Day 2: Dolphin tour and Jozani forest. After breakfast, we drive to the southern tip of Zanzibar island at Kizimkazi for a dolphin tour. Kizimkazi fishing village is home to several schools of bottle-nosed dolphins and Humpback dolphins, which can often be sighted following a short boat trip from the village. Kizimkazi is also the site of a 12th century mosque, the earliest evidence of Islam in East Africa, and is thus worth a visit for both natural and cultural reasons. After swimming with dolphins, snorkeling and sunbath, we take lunch and relax before proceeding to Jozani forest. The Forest is the home of the red colobus monkey, a rare species found only in Zanzibar. Species like Sykes monkey's, small buck, chameleon and bush pigs can also be found. A walk through this impressive flora and fauna is one of the highlights Zanzibar has to offer. Dinner and overnight stay in Stone Town.
Day 3: The Old Stone Town tour and Spice tour. We take breakfast in the morning before starting our city tour at 09:00hrs. This tour takes you through fabled Stone Town, where history appears to stand still. You will see Zanzibar's bustling market, winding alleyways, ornately carved and studded doors, two cathedrals and countless mosques, museum and many other interesting buildings! The Stone Town of Zanzibar has also some excellent gifts shops with plenty of souvenirs and handicrafts to choose from. At 13:00hrs we take lunch and relax before leaving for spice tour at 1530hrs.
This is not only a tour but also a rare experience to prove out why Zanzibar is referred to as the “Spice Island”. Tropical fruits, spices, root crops, Zanzibar flowering trees and other rare species of plants are among the different vegetation to be seen in this guided tour. We have developed a special Spice Tour with in depth information not only about spices, but also organically grown herbs and a detailed description about their traditional uses in medicine, cosmetics and cooking. This site is also the cheapest place to purchase spices and local made spice oils and perfumes. After 3 hrs, we drive back to Stone Town. Dinner and stay overnight in Stone Town.
Day 4: Leisure and Shopping. This is your day to relax, go on shopping and get yourself prepared for your trip back home on the next day.
