Begin with a tour of the CFDC, collections room and laboratory with an exciting talk and identification session for any of your fossils. Enjoy a hearty lunch with staff compliments of CFDC, followed by a scenic drive to the dig site on the the Manitoba Escarpment where participants spend the afternoon searching for and excavating 80 million year old fossils.
Tour Itinerary:
- 10:00 - Meet at our Centre.
- 10:00 – 11:15 am - Tour of the Center, collections room and laboratory.
- 11:15 - 11:45 am - Fossil Preparation.
- 11:45 am – 12:00 pm - Break and hand out information packages.
- 12:00 – 1:00 pm - Lunch with our staff.
- 1:00 – 1:30 pm - Drive out to Dig Site with our van.
- 1:30 – 1:45 pm - Review and Discuss Field Techniques.
- 1:45 – 5:00 pm - Dig at Dig Site with breaks in between.
- 5:00 - 5:30 pm - Drive back to Morden.
You can enjoy the tour any day of the week in July and August. No programs will run August 21 - 24.
