This gorgeous tour starts at the Lake Constance in Lindau – The happy end of Germany – as the town calls itself. Ahead of you the scenery of the Allgaeu Mountains of Bavaria, you will be climbing through small valleys up to the highlands of the Allgaeu, will be going through the terrific spacious alpine upland and reach the Alpsee Lake and Immenstadt firstly. With a splendid view of the Alps you will be cycling through a wonderful landscape.

The tour reaches Füssen at Lake Forggensee via Lake Hopfensee and shortly after you will see the magical castles of King Ludwig II., Neuschwanstein Castle and Hohenschwangau Castle. You will continue your way on Romantic Street, visit the Wieskirch pilgrimage church, cycle through the forests of the Ammergau Mountains and finally reach Eschenlohe. From here the step-ups are not too steep and the path will lead you into the direction of the Wetterstein Mountains.

Soon you will be in Bad Tölz. There are numerous castles, beautiful towns and townships and an unforgettable landscape along the way. The cycle path offers constantly lovely views of the Alps, idyllic lakes and forests. From Bad Tölz you will turn onto the Isar Cycle Path. It will lead you away from the Alps and through the attractive alpine upland, along the well-known Pupplinger Au preserve area into the provincial capital of Bavaria Munich.

South of Wolfratshausen the cycle track takes course on streets with little traffic in hilly terrain, but otherwise you will be cycling predominantly near the Isar River on very good drivable paths. This is a cycling experience with the contrast of still nature and lively historic towns.
