There is more to Yushan (Jade Mountain) than the main summit - 9 peaks actually. And all, except for East South peak, in the 'top hundred' peaks list. Each summit has its own character and appeal.
Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Tatajia (Tataka) trail-head - Yushan Front peak (3,239m) - Paiyun lodge (3,402m).
Day 2: Paiyun lodge - Yuanfong shelter (a basic hut, campsite nearby, - the highest, 3,640m, in Taiwan, fantastic spot for sunrises/sunsets) Nan (south) peak (3,383m) - YF shelter.
Day 3: YF shelter - Yushan South peak (3,844m) - East Small South peak (3,744m) - Lu (deer) Shan (2,981m) - YF shelter.
Day 4: YF shelter - Yushan main peak (3,952m) - East peak (3,869m) - North peak (3,858m) - Paiyun lodge.
Day 5: Paiyun lodge - West peak (3,518m) - Tatajia - home!
