Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Otopeni International Airport-Predeal. Arrival at Otopeni International Airport. Transfer by car to Predeal. Campina is a small city situated on the left side of Prahova River. Busteni is a small mountain resort at the foothills of Bucegi Mountains. With 1160 m, Predeal is the highest elevated town in Romania. The city is one of the main ski and mountain resorts in Romania. Dinner and overnight in a 3 stars hotel in Predeal.
Day 2: Predeal - Bran - Rasnov - Sibiu - Ocna Sibiului. Breakfast, departure for Ocna Sibiului, visits to Bran Castle and Rasnov Castle. Bran Castle used to be one of Prince Vlad Tepes' temporary residences. In other words: it was Dracula’s castle. Today it is a museum. Rasnov Castle is a "Peasant Castle" because it was built by the people of Rasnov, Christian, and Vulcan. A most beautiful city in Transylvania is Sibiu with its charm of a "museum city". Lunch in Sibiu. Ocna Sibiului Resort is known as "the Transylvanian seaside" for its salt lakes at 400 m alt. It is a famous spa resort where we will enjoy the next five days. Dinner and overnight in a 4 stars hotel in Ocna Sibiului.
Day 3: Ocna Sibiului. Breakfast. You can enjoy your day for relaxation and treatment. You can for instance follow the spa physician's recommendations especially made for you. About Ocna Sibiului: it is a small spa 15 km North of Sibiu. The first facilities were built in 1845. The salt lakes were created because the former salt mines collapsed. With more than 130 m depth, the Avram Iancu Lake is the deepest man made lake in Romania. The lakes host a quite specific salty flora and fauna. Temperature and salinity differences are used in therapeutic processes. Lunch and free afternoon. Dinner and overnight in your 4 stars hotel.
Day 4: Ocna Sibiului - Sibiu. Breakfast. Transfer and visit to Sibiu. Interesting sites to take a look at in Sibiu are: the Big Square; the Council Tower from where you can have a wonderful view over the city, the Brukental Museum and the Evangelical Church. After lunch we visit the Astra Museum in the Dumbrava forest. Afternoon where the salty waters, the dry and wet saunas and the massage and fitness halls are at your disposal. You can spend a beautiful and relaxing time by taking advantage of the moderate sunshine and the therapeutic salty water. Dinner and overnight in your 4 stars hotel in Ocna Sibiului.
Day 5: Ocna Sibiului-Sighisoara-Biertan-Medias-Ocna Sibiului. After breakfast we visit Sighisoara and Biertan. Sighisoara is a most interesting town because of its citadel. It is the only one in Eastern Europe that is still inhabited. And also because Vlad Impaler, son of Vlad Dracul was born here in 1433. The house where he was born can be seen. Interesting sites to visit are: the Clock Tower, the Citadel’s Main Gate; the Church on the Hill; the Scholar’s Stairway that was and is covered to protect the children on their way to school; the first Dominican monastery and its church and the house where Dracula lived the first years of his life.
After lunch we leave for Biertan where we can have a view of the town’s architectural build-up. Besides that, the town has the strongest fortified church, situated on a hillock, over viewing the town. Dinner and overnight in your 4 stars hotel in Ocna Sibiului.
Day 6: Ocna Sibiului. Breakfast. Take a rest at the pool side or visit the salt lakes. Doing this, keep in mind that the Romans, the Greeks, the Thracians as well as the Dacians preceded you. Indeed, the salt lakes and former mines are that old! Lunch and free afternoon. Dinner and overnight in your 4 stars hotel in Ocna Sibiului.
Day 7: Ocna Sibiului - Brasov - Sinaia. Breakfast. Transfer to Sinaia. Visit Brasov. Interesting sites to view in Brasov are the circular White Tower; the rectangular Black Tower; the Black Church, the Town Hall and, not to forget, Rope Street, the narrowest street in the country, originally used as the passage for firefighters to enter the old town. Lunch. Sinaia is the former Royal Residence for which the famous Peles Castle was built. It has 160 rooms containing art and sculpture collections, paintings, candelabras, furniture, Italian glass, oriental carpets, ivory sculptures, tapestries, furniture and weapon collections. Dinner and overnight in a 4 stars hotel in Sinaia.
Day 8: Sinaia - Otopeni International Airport. Breakfast. Departure day. Transfer to Otopeni International Airport.
