The routes are a fantastic mix of forest trails and single track through the protected areas of the 'Les Gavarres' and 'L'Ardenya' ranges. The highest peaks in the riding areas are approximately 500m and are situated in very hilly terrain, making this perfect mountain biking territory. The more challenging rides accumulate up to and over 1000m of ascents.
Some of the highlights of the routes:
- The 1000 year old hamlet of Romanya de la Selva.
- The remains of the castle used as a lookout post during the Civil War.
- The stunning lookout of "Pedralta" – the balancing rock with views to the Pyrenees and the coast.
- The lookout of "Puig d’Arques" to soak up the amazing views of the pine and cork forests of the "Les Gavarres" protected area sweeping down to the sea.
- The 1000 year old chapel of "San Miquel" with stunning views over Girona and the foothill of the Pyrenees.
Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival. Girona Mountain Bike ride and transfer to accommodation in the afternoon.
Day 2: Mountain bike ride in L’Ardenya protected area.
Day 3: Mountain bike ride in Gavarres protected area.
Day 4: Mountain bike ride in Gavarres protected area.
Day 5: Girona city tour. Departure.
Notes:
* Routes. We have hundreds of kilometers of mountain bike routes to choose from that take us into the Les Gavarres and L'Ardenya protected areas (each area is approximately 400km² ). Itineraries take us from sea level up to 500m in altitude offering incredible views of the surrounding countryside, before winding our way through the forest to return back to base.
* Accommodation. Staying at the 3 star Eden Roc Hotel situated overlooking the water in Sant Feliu de Guixols on a bed and breakfast basis (there is also a half-board option at an additional charge). In addition, there is a "Health and Wellness" center available for clients of the hotel to help relax and recuperate from a hard day on the saddle. Or staying at the Mas Pla Hostal and restaurant in Santa Cristina d'Aro. The Mas Pla Hostal is a traditional Catalan "Masia" (old farmhouse) that has been converted into a rustic style hostel. It is surrounded by beautiful countryside in the Santa Cristina d'Aro area, with a huge range of Mountain Bike rides, road rides and rural walks right on your doorstep It is a fantastic option for those who want a taste of "The real Spain".

* For your own comfort we suggest that you bring your own SPD pedals, helmet and hydration pack.
* Departure and destination points:
- Your chosen accommodation in Santa Cristina d'Aro or Sant Feliu de Guixols

- Riding times - from 1 to 5 hours.
