Visit hill tribe villages and go trekking in the Nam Ha Protected Area. Travel to the Chinese border and visit the old French garrison town of Muong Sing. Visit a local market to see the colourful clothing of the hill tribes. Finish the tour with a scenic boat trip to Luang Prabang and explore this wonderful city.

Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Ban Houei Sai - Xieng Kok - Luang Nam Tha
After immigration procedures travel by road to Luang Nam Tha. En route visit the hill-tribe villages of Ban Laten, Kh'mu & Hmong. We spend the night in a local guesthouse in Luang Nam Tha. Alternatively take a flight to Luang Nam Tha (link options to flight bookings). Includes: (L, D).
Day 2: Luang Nam Tha. Full day Trekking (Nam Ha Protected Area)
Trekking in the Nam Ha Protected Area through the minority villages, Ban Khone (Kalom), Ban Nam Houei (Hmong), Ban Phiang Ngam (Thaidam) and Ban Nam Ngene (Thaidam and Thaideng). Mid afternoon or early evening transfer to the hotel in Luang Nam Tha where we spend the night. Includes: (B, L, D).
Day 3: Luang Nam Tha - Muong Sing.
Once a garrison town and the most northern outpost of the French colonial system in the country, also the central of the civilisation of Sip Song Panna in the south of Yunnan, China. Only 30 minutes from the China border. Includes: (B, L).
Day 4: Muong Sing - Luang Nam Tha - Udomsai- Nong Khaew.
Early morning, visit the local market where you can see the local people with their traditional dresses selling & buying their products. After breakfast, we visit the Yao villages and the Laos-China border check point (Pangthong), then we drive to Nong Khaew, and check into a local guesthouse. includes: (B, L).
Day 5: Nong Khaew - Luang Prabang by boat about 5hrs.
After breakfast, take the long tail boat on the Nam-Ou and Mekong Rivers to Luang Prabang, passing the local villages and touching the real life of the villagers going about their everyday affairs of fishing, trading & washing along the rivers. Stop to visit the Pakou caves and observe the traditional production of rice wine distillation in Ban Sanghai. Arrive in Luang Prabang early evening and check into your hotel, where you can relax and enjoy the calm of this French colonial city. Includes: (B, L).
