Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Home / Cape Town. Depart your hometown for Cape Town.
Day 2: Cape Town. Upon arrival at Cape Town airport, you will be met by our local representative and transferred to your hotel. Day is at leisure. Dinner at hotel.
Day 3: Cape Town. Depart after breakfast for a morning city tour that will include Table Mountain (weather permitting). Drive through the colorful ‘Bo-Kaap’ suburb, once the home to the Malay slaves. Drive past the Houses of Parliament and stop in the Waterfront. Lunch at Hildebrand Restaurant. Afternoon is spent exploring the Waterfront shops and scenic areas. Option: 3 hour excursion to Robben Island ($25) National Heritage Museum and former prison home of Nelson Mandela. (B, L)
Day 4: Cape Peninsula. Depart for a full day circular tour of the Cape Peninsula. Stops include a cruise on the nautical launch to see the Cape fur seals on Duiker Island; Boulders Beach to see the Penguins, and the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve and Cape Point. Linefish lunch at Bertha’s Grill. Return to hotel. (You have option to visit Stellenbosch, the heart of the Winelands instead of the Cape Peninsula.) (B, L)
Day 5: Cape Town / Mossel Bay / Oudtshoorn. Depart the hotel after breakfast and drive to Mossel Bay. Enjoy lunch at The Gannet Restaurant. Visit the Maritime Museum featuring the Diaz Caravel. Drive over the Robinson Pass to Oudtshoorn. (B, L)
Day 6: Oudtshoorn / Knysna. Depart after breakfast and visit the Cango Caves deep in the Swartberg Mountains. Take in an informative tour at the Cango Wildlife Ranch. Lunch at Safari Show Farm and have a tour of the farm and many ostriches, the world’s largest birds. Drive over the Outeniqua Mountains through George and alaong the lake district to Knysna.
Day 7: Knysna. Depart for an excursion to the Tsitsikamma National Park where lunch is enjoyed near the mouth of the Storms River. If time permits, visit the colorful village of Tsitsikamma or visit the bridge over the Storms River. Lunch at Jabulani. Balance of the day is free for exploring the quaint boutiques and galleries for which Knysna is well known. (B, L)
Day 8: Knysna. Depart for an excursion to the Featherbed Nature reserve (Taking a ferry from Knysna). Lunch at Featherbed. In the afternoon, an optional trip can be arranged to Monkeyland or Knysna Elephant Park or a scenic steam train ride on the Outeniqua Choo Tjoe. (B, L)
Day 9: Knysna / Johannesburg. After breakfast, you will be transferred to George airport and fly to Johannesburg. Upon arrival, you will have an orientation tour of the city. In the afternoon, drive to Lesedi Cultural Village for a tour and African Tribal Dancing. Dinner at Lesedi Cultural Village. (B, D)
Day 10: Johannesburg. This morning, you will have a tour of Pretoria including the Union Buildings, Kruger House and Melrose House. This afternoon, visit Gold Reef City and the Apartheid Museum. Dinner at the hotel. (B, D)
Day 11: Johannesburg / Kruger. After an early breakfast, drive to Mpumalanga. Visit scenic stops along the Panorama Route before entering Pilgrims Rest. In the afternoon, drive into the Kruger National Park and arrive Lukimbi GameLodge. Late afternoon, enjoy an open vehicle game drive at the game lodge. Dinner and overnight the hotel. (B, D)
Day 12: Lukimbi. Early morning game drive in open safari vehicle. Breakfast at the lodge. Spend the rest of the morning at leisure. Lunch at the lodge. Enjoy a late afternoon game drive in open safari vehicle. Dinner at the lodge. (B, L, D)
Day 13: Lukimbi / Johannesburg / Home. After early breakfast at the lodge, you will be transferred to Johannesburg airport.
