Tour Itinerary:

Day 1: Aba shuttle will pick you from the airport on arrival and you will be transferred to Hotel Africana or Speke hotel in Kampala from where you will be briefed about the tour.

Day 2: Proceed for a Kampala city tour. Among the attraction are Kabaka’s lake, Cathedrals, Kisingiri house, Kasubi Tombs, Makerere University, Uganda museum and the Bahai temple. Also you can make shopping at the Uganda Crafts village where you can buy curios, souvenirs and mementos to remind you of your Uganda tour and also as gifts for your family and friends back home. Return to your residence.

Day 3: After breakfast head for Fort Portal via Mityana and Mubende, have a stop over at the Nakayima shrine, a tree 400 years old, worshiped by the local people and holding spirits of ancient kings. Arrive late afternoon and you can visit caves near the Amakoomi campsite. Dinner and overnight at Amakoomi campsite.

Day 4: Visit the Omukama of Toro palace, located of Fort Portal’s highest hill. Also there are good views of the Rwenzoris from the top of the hill. Visit the hot springs and the caves. Overnight at Amakoomi campsite.

Day 5: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park via the Rwenzori Mountains. In Queen Elizabeth Park you will be rewarded with seeing wild animals like buffalo, lion, leopard, hyena, elephant and a variety of antelopes. After lunch, enjoy the 2-hour boat cruise on the Kazinga channel. Expect to view a lot of hippos and other animals, which may be seen basking in the sun.

Also expect to view a variety of bird species on the launch cruise like the African skimmer, African fish eagle, papyrus gonolek and many others. Still to mention during the boat cruise it is very interesting to take photographs. Overnight at Mweya safari lodge or Jacana safari lodge.

Day 6: Go to Kyambura gorge to track chimps after which proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable forest through the "Switzerland of Africa" locally known as the Kigezi highlands with terraced hillsides and winding roads. Pass through the Isasha sector and view-climbing lions. Overnight and dinner at Buhoma Rest camp.

Day 7: Go for gorilla tracking in the morning. The rain forest can be explored at any time. It offers a steep dense forested landscape, crisscrossed by numerous animal trails, which makes it easy be for the tourists to see the animals. The resident mammals include the endangered Mt. Gorilla, bush buck, leopard, rare golden monkey, giant forest hog, buffalo, elephant, black fronted duiker, and others. This park is best known for the fascinating relatives of man "The gorillas".

The time taken and the terrain vary according to the movements of the marvelous primates. Wonderful time is spending time listening to songs of the many bird species and observing the gorillas which is a rare, moving, awesome and exciting adventure. The gorilla is a shy and peaceful animal and it is unforgettable experience to watch and photograph them as they interact. Dinner and overnight stay at Buhoma Rest camp.

Day 8: Transfer to Kisoro, enroute stop at Kanaba Gap to view the spectacular Virunga volcanoes and the captivating terraced hills. Visit the natural and beautiful looking lake Mutanda, surrounded by the volcanoes, you may take a walk on the shores or continue to Mgahinga national park. Dinner and overnight stay at Buhoma Rest camp.

Day 9: After breakfast, go for a cultural walk on lake Bunyonyi southwestern shores to view a number of villages in their setting. Here Pygmies walk over the mountains from Rwanda to sell their produce at the market at Hakekuba. Dinner and overnight stay at the Bunyonyi Overland Camp.

Day 10: Prepare to go after breakfast, for a leisurely drive to lake Mburo national park. Enter the park through the Nshara gate. In the afternoon enjoy a game drive along the lake shore track with its own system of game trail and cleared walkways, the "Kigambara Loop" offers interesting guided lakeside walks where you can find herds of Zebra, impala, warthog, baboons, velvets, eland, Pribi and Topi are easily accessed.

After lunch enjoy a boat trip on Lake Mburo and expect to view crocodiles and hippos. Bird watchers will enjoy more than 250 species of birds found in Lake Mburo. The most interesting birds are; crested crane (Uganda’s national emblem), saddle bill storks and Abyssinian ground horn bills. Then return to Rwonyo rest camp dinners and overnight.

Day 11: After breakfast, go for another game drive. After lunch drive back to Kampala, stopping at Mpigi Royal Drum Makers en route where you will be able to watch the ceremonial drums being crafted using methods passed down through generations. There will also be time to stop at the Equator for photographs. You arrive in Kampala in the early evening.

Day 12: Meet and greet at 8:30 and head to Jinja. On the way to Jinja visit the mystical Ssezibwa falls. Visit some of the exciting places in Jinja town with the help of our driver. The places include the source of the Nile and Bujagali Falls. In the afternoon return to Kampala. You may the theater to enjoy a local dance/ play, which is subject to availability.
