Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival to Lake Bled. World famous town on the shore of a glacial lake. You’ll love the scenery, mighty castle on the rock above the town, little island with a chapel. We liked the local specialty – the cream cake. Taste the best ones in hotel Park. Welcome drink, bike delivery and testing.
Day 2: Bled – Ribcev Laz (Bohinj Lake) (40 km, cumulative climb 700 m). Uphill to Pokljuka high plateau. From there you cycle descending down to the Bohinj valley, place of unique beauty of nature and tiny villages in Alpine valley. We liked a snack in the local pub.
Day 3: Bohinj – Tolmin (61 km, cumulative climb 1100 m; or 35 km taking train to Podbrdo). Biking a valley route, some hilly sections, goes partly by train through 6-km tunnel. We liked the very narrow, partly canyon-like valley of Baska grapa. In summer months one can swim in the river.
Day 4: Tolmin – Bovec (36 km, cumulative climb 440 m). Cycling along the Soca River only. Slowly climbing. We liked the wider area of WWI fighting of the Isonzo front: different monuments of the era. Museum of WW1 in Kobarid is definitively worth visiting. Bovec is the adrenaline capital of Slovenia – enjoy white water rafting, canyoning, bungee jumping.
Day 5: Bovec – a rest day. Enjoy a free day in Bovec – the adrenaline capital of Slovenia. Alternatively you can take a white water rafting trip down the river or a lift by a cable car to Mt. Kanin and cycle back down to the valley.
Day 6: Bovec – Kranjska Gora (45 km, cumulative climb 1100 m). First through the Upper Soca valley of Trenta, then a high mountain pass of Vrsic (1611 m above sea level - height difference 1100 m / 3600 ft; 50 hairpin bends - winner climb for every amateur touring cyclist). We liked the Triglav National Park central area. Trenta valley and Triglav National Park - beautiful scenery, mountain peaks of over 2500 m.
Day 7: Kranjska Gora – Bled (41 km, cumulative climb 150 m). Relaxing cycling tour runs alongside the Julian Alps and Sava Dolinka river. The last 20 km go through a valley featuring the untouched Radovna stream.
Day 8: Departure From Bled.

- Detailed maps with marked route can be rented locally upon arrival. Rental price is 15 EUR. Clients have to state their credit card details when they get the maps. Maps need to be returned to Helia at the end of the trip.
