Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Tuesday: Arrive Nairobi. After clearing customs and immigration, meet your local Airport host and transfer to your hotel. Nairobi is a cosmopolitan and lively city, the largest between Johannesburg and Cairo. Dinner will be provided at the hotel. (D)
Day 2: Wednesday: Nairobi-Amboseli. Drive to Amboseli National Park at the foot of the snow –capped Mount Kilimanjaro. Famous for its large population of elephants, the park has wide variety of wild animals. Apart from game viewing you can visit the Masai people in their traditional homes – the Manyatta. ( B, L, D )
Day 3: Thursday: Amboseli. Morning and evening game viewing alongside the magnificent snow blanketed mountain. It provides a great background for herds of elephants, giraffes, gazelle and pride of lions. The lodge provides a good pool overlooking a watering hole where different animals and birds visit. (B, L, D)
Day 4: Friday: Amboseli - Lake Nakuru. After breakfast at Amboseli, drive to Lake Nakuru, well known for its splendid birdlife. Lake Nakuru is part of the shallow lakes formed on the floor of the Rift Valley. Here you’ll find a huge concentration of flamingos. Abundant fish in the lake also attract pelicans, herons, cormorants and fish eagles. There are more than 400 species of birds here. Enjoy bird watching walks and plenty of photo opportunities. Optional Horse ride can be done here. (B, L, D)
Day 5: Saturday: Lake Nakuru - Masai Mara. After your breakfast proceed to Masai Mara. Although moderate in size, Masai Mara Game Reserve supports the highest concentration of wildlife in Africa. On the open, undulating plains, with the imposing escarpment as a backdrop, you are practically assured of sighting the ‘Big Five’ namely lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhino. (B, L, D)
Day 6: Sunday: Masai Mara. Spend the day at Mara. The Reserve occupies the northern seven percent of the Serengeti – Mara ecosystem that extend from northern Tanzania to Kenya. The ecosystem is the annual scene of the world’s most drastic migration of wildlife. (B, L, D)
Day 7: Monday: Mara – Nairobi. After breakfast drive to Nairobi. Arrive good time for lunch. Afternoon visit the home of Karen Blixen, the author of “Out of Africa”. It is now a National Museum. Then visit the Giraffe Manor, where you get a chance to feed the giraffes. Return back to your hotel. (B, D)
Day 8: Tuesday: Departure. Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Jkia for your departure flight.
