Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Guyana. Arrival in Georgetown, Guyana, South America's only English speaking city-CBJ airport. Transfer to the hotel.
Day 2: Kaieteur Falls. Fly to the famous Kaieteur Falls and spend two hours viewing this natural 741 ft wonder from different vantage points. Discover the beauty of this 741 ft wonder. Learn about the flora and fuana which adorn our rainforest. See the golden frog and the "Cock o the Rock". Picnic lunch at the falls and afternoon return. Overnight at hotel. Includes: (B), (L).
Day 3: Suriname. Transfer to Paramaribo. Afternoon city tour of Paramaribo including fort Zeelandia, palm gardens and beautiful European architecture. Overnight. Includes: (B).
Day 4: French Guiana. This morning you will be transferred to Albina and cross with the ferry. Transfer to Kourou and stay at Mercure Atlantis for 2 nights. Includes: (B).
Day 5: Devil's Island tour. Transfer to Ile Royale for your Devil's island tour. Spot presentation by English Guide. See Devil's Island from the Auberage and learn about the legend behind "Papillion". Learn about Dreyfus and about the French Guiana colonial era. Visit Joseph Island. Late afternoon return. Day 6: Arianne Space center. Transfer to Arianne space center. Bus shuttle to the main installations and get to know more about the space program. Return to hotel and departure by afternoon for Paramaribo. Transfer to Eco Resort Inn. Includes: (B).
Day 7: Free morning to relax and afternoon flight to Manaus. You will have the morning free to relax or to explore Paramaribo on your own. Afternoon transfer to airport for flight to Manaus. Transfer to Hotel Imperial for 2 nights. Includes: (B).
Day 8: Manaus City Tour. Today you will be able to do a city tour of Manaus. You will visit the opera house, the theater Amazonas, Palace of Justice, the Customs House. Great architecture and lots to see. Includes: (B), (L).
Day 9: Rio Negro River tour. Tour of the famous Rio Negro black waters and Solimoes muddy waters, which run side by side for 3 km before mixing. Includes: (B).
Day 10: Boa Vista. Transfer to airport for your flight to Boa Vista. Overnight.
Day 11: Tuesday Karanambu Ranch. Morning transfer to Lethem, Rupununi, Guyana. Flight to Karanambu, where your host, Diane McTurk, is waiting to welcome you. She is famous for her program to rehabilitate orphaned Giant River Otters back to the wild. Overnight at the ranch.
Day 12: Karanambu. Free day to relax and swim with otters and canoe down the river in search of wildlife.
Day 13: Thursday Iwokrama. Transfer to Iwokrama and enjoy a canopy tour. Evening in search of Caiman and overnight. Includes: (B).
Day 14: Iwokrama. Wildlife tour and cultural experience in Amerindian village of Fair view. Transfer by aircraft to Georgetown. Transfer to hotel. Includes: (B).
Day 15: Sloth Island Rain forest Resort and Nature Park. Transfer to Sloth Island reserve, located on the Essequibo River. Relax in its quiet beauty or indulge in canoe experiences with possibilities of visits to the historic sites of Kyk-overal, an Old Dutch Fort, or indulge in cultural expeditions in Foul Mouth (Amerindian Village). Hike to Whitewater falls. Return in afternoon to hotel for overnight.
Day 16: Return home. Transfer to airport for check in.
