Ha Long Bay affords some of Vietnam's most spectacular scenery, including beautiful limestone formations, rock arches, gin-clear water, virtually inaccessible lagoons, sheer cliffs, peaceful coves, eerie caves, secluded strips of white, powdery sand, and thousands of limestone islets. Like sculpted cartoon characters, these islets are fancifully named: Frog Island, Face Island, the Isle of Wonders and the Isle of Surprise. Chinese junks glide over the teal-hued bay between the grottoes, which are densely carpeted in neon-green ficas, mangrove and spiky cacti. Pearl oyster farms are tucked into tight channels between the towering, limestone cliffs. Primitive floating fish hatcheries are spun across the waters between the grottoes like neglected spider webs. This maritime mountain range reaches for a distance of more than 100 kilometers and covers an area of some 1500 square kilometers.
Itinerary
Day 1: Hanoi - Halong (L, D)
Morning: Car pick up and transfer to Halong, drive through the plain of the Red River delta to Ha Long in Quang Ninh province – One of the great wonders. Check-in board procedure. Boat cruise to visit the bay's more than 2000 rocks and islands, splendid landscape and well-known grottoes of Dau Go and Thien Cung. Enjoy seafood lunch on board. More cruise on the bay sightseeing Dinh Huong islet, Ga Choi, Dog and Sail islet, sunset view on the Bay. Experience dinner and night on board, free time watching
stars and the bay at night
Day 2: Halong (B, L, D)
Cruising around Luon cave, Man's head island, Tortoise island, Virgin cave. Free time swimming or enjoy kayaking on the bay. Continue to visit bay with other island. Lunch on board. Free time to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the bay after dinner. Over night on boat.
Day 3: Halong - Hanoi (B, L)
After breakfast, enjoy the coffee upper deck. Take a picture of the bay and to smell the last seafood lunch before back to the dock and check out of board and transfer to return Ha Noi. End of trip
