This fully guided semi-luxury safari has been prepared to cover a number of distinct eco-systems within the Zambian bush environment, including access to some of Zambia’s better known National Parks as well as some, not so well known.
Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrive Lusaka. Met by African Safaris. Overnight in chalet/rondavel accommodation at a formal camp site on the edge of the City.
Days 2-3: Early morning dept in air-conditioned bush vehicles. Heading out of the capital to camp for two nights at Kasanka National Park, home of the rare sitatunga antelope.
Days 4-6: Spend three days exploring Bengwelu wetlands around Lake Bengwelu, black faced impala and shoe bill stork can be seen here.
Days 7-8: camp for two nights at Kapishya hot springs, next to Shiwa Ngandu, Lake of the Royal Crocodile and family home of legendary Stewart Gore Browne. Optional visit to Shiwa house.
Day 9: Dropping over the escarpment, journey through North Luangwa National Park, to overnight in reeded huts with en-suite facilities, alongside the Mwaleshi River.
Days 10-11: Crossing through, or by pontoon over, the Luangwa river, camp at the remote and seldom visited Luambe National Park, with its endemic Cookesons wildebeest.
Days 12-14: Camp for three nights over looking the Luangwa River, next to South Luangwa National Park. A daily game drive visit to the Park for two days is included, plus a night drives with a local guide is included. Optional game drives in open vehicle are also available.
Day 15: Safari ends after breakfast. Return flight to Lusaka.
