Hiking, biking & kayaking in beautiful Lake Tahoe within California's Sierra Nevada mountain range, you'll find a breathtaking sanctuary of dramatic granite peaks, dense forests, thundering waterfalls and crystal clear water. Lake Tahoe's amazingly clear waters are surrounded by hundreds of trails, cradled by secluded bays with majestic peaks. The skies are deep blue and can be cloudless for weeks on end.
It is truly a hiker's, kayakers & bikers paradise. Lake Tahoe is one of the nation's most stunningly beautiful lakes you will ever experience. Intimate in feel yet grand in scale and an inspiring setting for this multisport exploration. Overnight accommodations in the charming and rustic River Ranch Lodge is the perfect complement to the fantastic scenery located on the scenic Truckee River or our beautiful 3 bed/2.5 bath Tahoe City Vacation rental that sleeps 8 comfortably.

Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Cycling & Welcome Dinner Party with Wine at River Ranch
Escape Travel will pick you up at your downtown Sacramento hotel at 9:30am or meet you at River Ranch Lodge at 11:30 in the heart of Lake Tahoe's West shoredining_bar (27K) region for a relaxing picnic lunch on the Truckee River. We'll ride the rest of the afternoon along the Truckee River, Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows area. We'll check into the River Ranch Lodge, an ideal location for a romantic multisport.
The lodge sits on the banks of the scenic Truckee River, a beautiful location for your Lake Tahoe adventure. This historic lodge features handsome and rustic rooms, a fabulous dining room and bar cantilevered over the river and a spacious riverside patio that's perfect for a romantic multisport getaway. 20 miles (moderate).
Day 2: Hiking Ellis Peak, Kayaking on Lake Tahoe
After a healthy and bountiful breakfast at River Ranch, we'll head of to a beautiful protected canyon called Blackwood Canyon and Barker Pass.3dayLakeTahoe07 (46K) After reaching the summit at over 7,500 feet, We'll hike part of the Pacific Crest Trail (2,000+ mile trail that extends from Canada to Mexico) to Ellis Lake and are rewarded with views of the entire Lake Tahoe Basin & Desolation Wilderness.
Ellis Peak (8,742 feet), where the reward is a captivating wilderness, Lake Tahoe and beyond. A West Shore picnic lunch is followed by a tranquil kayak on the crystal clear waters of Lake Tahoe where we can often see to a depth of more than 60 feet but don't forget to look up as the snow capped peaks that encircle the lake rise more than 3,100 feet above you. Relax tonight at River Ranch Lodge. Dinner on your own at one of gourmet restaurants in town. 6 miles hiking (moderate).
Day 3: Riding the beautiful West Shore, Hiking Eagle Falls & Emerald Bay
After a healthy and bountiful breakfast, this is a must do ride for anyone who enjoys refreshing air, fantastic lake & mountain views and a passion for cycling adventure! The West & North Shore provides the best of both mountain biking and road rides where we get breathtaking views of forested canyons and pristine snow-covered peaks on this portion of the lake's shoreline.
We'll enjoy another beautiful lake side setting for a nice picnic lunch before lacing up the hiking boots for upper and lower Eagle Falls hikes that offers much more than waterfalls. The hike to the lower falls takes you to a beautiful sandy white beach in Emerald Bay (most photographed location in California) as well as historic Vikingsholm Castle. Vikingsholm, a Scandinavian castle perched on the pristine shores of Emerald Bay. There are fantastic views along the entire length of the hike. We'll have you back to your Sacramento hotel by 6:45pm. 20 miles (moderate).
