In the remote eastern corner of the Lhasa-Tsethang region is Lhamo Lhatso, the "life-spirit" and "oracle" lake sacred to Gyelmo Makzorma, the wrathful protectors, Pelden Lhamo. Each Dalai Lama was to visit this lake at least once in his lifetime
