This tour offers to visit Shanghai sights, museums, Children's Palace and religious sites. Undertake a cruise along Yangzi river to see the legendary Three Traveler's Cave, Three Gorges and Precious Stone Fortress. Enjoy a brief city tour of the most famous mountain city in China - Beijing, and visit Tiananmen Square, the Imperial Palace, Summer Palace, the Great Wall and Temple of Heaven.

Tour Itinerary:

Day 1: Departure for Shanghai.

Day 2: Shanghai. Arrive Shanghai, the largest city of China. You are greeted and transferred to Hotel in downtown.

Day 3: Shanghai. Visit the Bund, the splendid row of early 20th century European buildings remains the quintessential Shanghai sight. This morning you will visit Yuyuan Garden, a well-restored Suzhou-style garden.

Visit the marvelous Shanghai Museum, whose galleries contain world-class collections of ancient arts and artifacts. Stop by Children's Palace, where Chinese youngsters engage in extracurricular activities. Includes: (B, L, D)

Day 4: Shanghai - Yichang. Visit the Jade Buddha Temple, an active religious site in an old part of the city. The next religious site you will see is the St. Ignatius Cathedral built in 1846. Move on to wander around the former French Concession laid out by the French in 1909, represented by the leafy Fuxing park and the architecture in the area. Take a late afternoon flights to Yichang, a river port by the Three Gorges Dam site. Upon arrival, check in Hotel. Includes: (B, L, D)

Day 5: Yangzi River Cruise. Visit the legendary Three Traveler's Cave, whose stone inscriptions tell stories of the ancient times. Explore local markets filled with fresh produce and colorful handicrafts. In the afternoon, board Cruise ship and take an excursion to Three Gorges Dam & Locks, the world's largest hydroelectric project and the newest attraction on the Yangtze cruise line. Day 6: Yangzi River Cruise. Continue your journey up the Yangzi. The highlight of today's cruise is to be thrilled at one of China's greatest natural wonders - the Three Gorges of Yangzi river, featuring towering peaks and sheer cliffs. The gorges began to form 70 million years ago when two mountain ranges collided and the river began to erode the gorges to their present state.

The appeal of the Yangzi lies not only in its natural beauty but also in the cultural and historical significance the river has embedded in the nearby. Discover the hidden charm in the lesser gorges by boating on the fabled Shennong Stream and listening to locals telling legends of the old times. Includes: (B, L, D)

Day 7: Yangzi River Cruise. Your port of call today is Shibaozhai, or Precious Stone Fortress. From afar you see a red pavilion hugging one side of this hill. The temple at the top was built in early Qing dynasty (1644-1911).

Day 8: Chongqing-Beijing. Cruise ends in Chongqing. Upon disembarking, enjoy a brief city tour of the most famous mountain city in China and stop by the zoo to get a close look at the giant panda. Take an afternoon flight to Beijing. Check in your deluxe hotel in downtown. Includes: (B, L)

Day 9: Beijing. Begin the day with a visit to Tiananmen Square, the world largest. Then, move on to the Imperial Palace, also known as the "Forbidden City" that symbolizes the imperial and traditional China. After lunch visit the enchanting Summer Palace, one of China's largest and best-preserved imperial gardens. A Peking Duck Dinner followed by a performance of traditional Peking Opera concludes your first day in Beijing. Includes: (B, L, D)

Day 10: Beijing. Today's highlight is your visit to the Great Wall, symbol of Chinese civilization. On your way back to the city, stop at a mountain village and meet local residents. Visit the Temple of Heaven, where you will certainly be impressed by the beautiful structure of the Hall of Prayer. Go to Beihai Park to sample the imperial cuisine at the famous Fangshan Restaurant.
