Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Wednesday, September 24, 2008: USA – Munich
Departure on a regular scheduled flight from the U.S. to Munich.
Day 2: Thursday, September 25, 2008: Munich
Arrive in Munich in the morning, and meet your driver in the arrivals hall for the transfer to the centrally located hotel. After check-in, you will have time to relax and recuperate from your transatlantic flight. Meet in the lobby of the hotel in the early evening and on the way to the “Theresienwiese”, the grounds were the famous Oktoberfest is being held, you will have an overview tour of Munich. Tonight, enjoy a traditional dinner and tanker of beer in one of the tents at the Oktoberfest, with an English speaking guide and transfer.
Day 3: Friday, September 26, 2008: Munich, Oktoberfest
After breakfast meet with the local guide for an in-depth sightseeing tour of Munich, the capital of Bavaria. During this tour you will also visit Nymphenburg Castle. The afternoon is at leisure to explore Munich on your own. This evening, prepare for another night of celebration in one of the famous beer tents of the Oktoberfest. B, D
Day 4: Saturday, September 27, 2008: Salzburg, Oktoberfest
This morning depart for your excursion to discover Salzburg, the city of music. Travel through the lower part of the Bavarian Alps, called the Chiemsee. Upon your arrival in Salzburg, Mozart’s birthplace, you will be met by our local representative for a guided tour of the city, known as the Rome of the North, with its many palaces and squares. After your tour, enjoy dinner in a downtown restaurant. You have free time to shop and explore on your own. Dinner will be served in a typical restaurant in downtown Salzburg before you return to Munich. B,D
Day 5: Sunday, September 28, 2008: Munich
After a leisurely breakfast, you will have the entire day to explore Munich on your own. You may chose to go back to the Oktoberfest, or have dinner in one of the many traditional restaurants in downtown Munich, such as the Hofbraeuhaus or the Ratskeller. B
Day 6: Monday, September 29, 2008: Munich-USA
Transfer to the airport for your flight back to the USA. B
