Detailed Itinerary
Monday departure from USA, overnight flight to Berlin
Day 1: Tuesday: Berlin (D)
Arrive in Berlin and transfer on own to Berlin hotel. Remainder of the day at leisure. Overnight at Express by Holiday Inn at Anhalter Bahnhof or similar.
Day 2: Wednesday: Berlin (B)
Meet your guide in the lobby and begin a guided tour to include all of the main sights of Germany´s most important and exciting city. See Brandenburg Gate, Check Point Charlie, the Parliament Reichstag, Berlin cathedral and the former seat of the communist government of East Germany. Included in our city tour is a boat trip, allowing you to view some of the cities important sights from the River Spree. The remainder of the day is free to explore the Berlin‘s wonderful museums or roam around the many boutiques and department stores.
Day 3: Thursday: Berlin - Hamburg (B)
In the morning we head north to Hamburg where we will begin a tour of this impressive city including the main sights, such as Michel, Reeperbahn, Alster and more. Your city tour is followed by relaxing Harbor Cruise around Germany´s largest seaport. In the evening, you can opt to enjoy an excursion to Hamburg´s Reeperbahn, the amusement quarter. Overnight at Hotel Ramada Treff, or similar.
Day 4: Friday: Hamburg - Bremen – Celle - Hamelin (B)
After breakfast, we depart for Bremen, the Free Hanseatic City known for its old tradition of trade and seafaring. Visit the picturesque market place with the statue of “Roland”, the old town, the city hall and the cathedral. Continue down south to the well preserved city of Celle. View the market square with its beautiful half-timbered houses and the duke´s castle, which dates back to the 12th century and was restored to a beautiful Renaissance palace in the 15th century. Driving along the Fairy-Tale Road, we will reach Hamelin, city of the Pied Piper. Overnight at Hotel Mercure, or similar.
Day 5: Saturday: Hamlin - Frankfurt (B)
This morning, enjoy the delightful old quarter of the historical town of Hamelin on the River Weser. Afterwards, we continue south along the Fairy-Tale Road and we will make stops depending on the weather and the local traffic. Your afternoon arrival in Frankfurt features a tour showcasing this traditional, yet modern city. Tonight enjoy your farewell dinner, hosted in one of the local restaurants, where you may try the local specialty, cider or Apfelwein, as the locals call it. Overnight at Express by Holiday inn or similar.
Day 6: Sunday: Frankfurt (B/D)
Tour ends with breakfast, transfer on own from hotel to airport, or continue with Romantic Germany Tour.
