Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Zanzibar Airport/Harbor– Stone Town, Tanzania. You will be met at Zanzibar Airport or Harbour and transferred to Stone Town hotel. Overnight at Zanzibar Serena Inn– no meals.
Day 2: Stone Town, Tanzania. Depart for a guided tour of Stone Town, covering Kelele square, Tip Tip House, the former slave market sight, Livingstone House, the old dhow harbor and the Old Arab Front. You will have lunch at a local restaurant, followed by a boat trip to Prison Island, the former prison for slaves and quarantine station for Zanzibar; this is an absolutely worthwhile experience. Here you will also have the chance to see Giant Tortoises in the wild. After your visit to Prison Island you will return to your hotel. Overnight at Zanzibar Serena Inn – breakfast and lunch.
Day 3: Zanzibar, Tanzania. After breakfast today you will transfer to Mangapwani Village via Maruhubi Palace ruins. You will visit the slave caves and chambers. You will have lunch at Mangapwani Serena Restaurant. The restaurant is located on the outskirts of Zanzibar Stone Town.
The Serena Mangapwani Restaurant and Water sports Center is a great destination for those looking for somewhere special. Visitors to Mangapwani are offered a fresh seafood barbecue cooked to perfection by Serena’s expert team of chefs. The atmosphere is informal and friendly and the restaurant comprises a series of traditional makuti bandas, all set into a lush hillside overlooking an idyllic beach. Guests can also enjoy fishing, snorkeling, kayaking, catamaran rides and many other pleasant distractions at the well-equipped center. Late afternoon you will be transferred back to your hotel. Overnight at Zanzibar Serena Inn – breakfast and lunch
Day 4: Zanzibar, Tanzania. After breakfast you will be transferred back to the airport or harbour for your trip back to the mainland.
