While we arrange private active and cultural adventures throughout MOROCCO, our Bike Morocco Tour 2009 will take place from APRIL 12-24, 2009. We will have private transportation and support vehicles with us the entire tour. The average biking time on days we cycle will be three to four hours (25-30 miles/40-60 kilometers). Our prices are often 1/3 to 1/2 the cost of other tour operators. And, we cap our small group tours at eight people. We can also set up private biking tours and/or mixed with some trekking for small groups - so contact us TODAY with any interest you may have!
Your Itinerary:
Day 1: Marrakesh. Today, you will be arriving in Morocco. You can fly into Casablanca and take the train down the Marrakesh if needed (3 hours) in order to meet up with the group.
Day 2: Marrakesh. We'll have the full day to explore Marrakesh, the medina, Koranic schools, and gardens. The weather tends to be perfect at this time of year.
Day 3: Ouarzazate. Today, we will take private transport over the High Atlas Mountains to Ouarzazate where we can begin our cycling.
Day 4: Zagora. After driving to Zagora, we'll relax for the night before heading out early the next morning.
Day 5: Rissani. Today, we'll take a short drive to Tazzarine. Once there, we'll begin biking to Rissani and spend the night in this quaint southern town.
Day 6: Sahara Desert Camel Trek. From Rissani, we'll cycle to Merzouga, which borders the dunes along the Sahara Desert, known as Erg Chebbi. Tonight, we'll hop on camels and ride out into the desert, enjoy a meal under the stars, and sleep under Bedouin tents!
Day 7: Erfoud. This morning, we'll camel trek out of the desert, enjoy a shower, and eat breakfast at a buffet-style hotel restaurant. Following, we'll take a short drive to Erfoud, where we'll spend the day poolside relaxing for the following day's cycling.
Day 8: Tinerhir. Today, we'll load onto our bikes early and began pedaling away to Tinjdad. There, we'll take our transportation to Tinerir for the night. You'll enjoy the picturesque canyon walls and cliffs of the area.
Day 9: Todra and Dades Gorge. We'll drive to the Todra Gorge and enjoy a day hike, or rock climbing. Following, we'll descend and head back up farther along to the Dades Gorge. We can cycle around the area this evening and enjoy the monkey-paw rock formations.
Day 10: Ait Ben Haddou and Marrakech. Today, we'll drive along the river and head towards Ait Ben Haddou to visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site where several famous movies have been filmed. Following, well go over the Tizi n’Fedrhate pass (2150 meters) and cycle down to lowlands. We'll head back and arrive late to Drive to Marrakech.
Day 11 & 12: Essaouira. We head to the laid-back coastal town of Essaouira to enjoy a couple of days relaxing on the beach.
Days 13: Essaouira - Tour ends back in Marrakesh.
