Detailed Itinerary - Nuremberg to Budapest:
Day 1: Nuremberg
Embarkation begins at 4 p.m. The MS Amadeus Syphony leaves Nuremberg at 6 p.m. The ship heads towards Regensburg. After you become familiar with the vessel and its layout, enjoy a complimentary cocktail before attending tonight’s special welcome dinner.
Day 2: Regensburg
You will continue to cruise down the Danube, reaching Regensburg around noon. Enjoy a walking tour of Regensburg this afternoon. Following dinner, an evening of Bavarian entertainment has been arranged for your enjoyment. The vessel remains in Regensburg for most of the evening.
Day 3: Passau – Linz
During the early morning hours, the ship cruises along the Danube, passing the Benedictine Abbey of Niederaltech and the old town of Vilshofen, before reaching Passau. After breakfast, begin the walking tour of Passau, the most eastern city in Bavaria. Today, an excursion will be available to Salzburg, Mozart’s City 1. If you choose to join this excursion, you will meet the ship in Linz that evening. The MS AMADEUS SYMPHONY departs from Passau before noon and arrives in Linz early in the afternoon. Set sail from Linz at 11 p.m.
Day 4: Melk – Duernstein
In the morning, the ship berths at Melk, a riverside village best known for its Baroque Abbey. A guided tour of the Abbey is included in the “Beauties of the Wachau” excursion, as well as the exploration of the surrounding picturesque villages. Tradition and beauty meet in a landscape of steep vineyards, ancient buildings and interesting monuments. The ship departs Duernstein in the evening, as it passes by the wine-growing village of Weissenkirchen, and the delightful old town of Krems, which dates back to 995 AD.
Day 5: Vienna
The ship will arrive in Vienna, the artistic capital of Austria, during the wee hours of the morning. The sightseeing tour begins after breakfast. In the afternoon, an excursion to the magnificent Schoenbrunn Palace is included in your day's activities as well. After dinner, there is an optional excursion “Sound of Vienna”1, where you can listen to the music of Mozart and Strauss, at one of Vienna’s most famous concert halls. The ship will remain in Vienna overnight.
Day 6: Vienna – Bratislava
At 1 p.m. you will arrive in Bratislava, the capital of the Republic of Slovakia which just celebrated it 2000th anniversary. The guided tour of Bratislava will begin this afternoon. Relax and enjoy the scenic river views before tonight’s dinner. The ship pulls away from the city at 11 p.m.
Day 7: Budapest
This morning, the ship arrives in Budapest at 9:30 a.m. Shortly after arriving in port, enjoy the city sightseeing tour. This afternoon is at your leisure to explore the city on your own, or just relax and enjoy the day. Tonight, the captain invites you to a gala dinner. During dinner, admire the illuminated riverbanks while gypsy violins play as you cruise up and down the Danube in Budapest. Overnight moored in Budapest.
Day 8: Budapest
Disembark after breakfast. Your cruise ends here.
