For taking a way of this Mountain trek we beginning in Riobamba Capital of Chimborazo province. The local and Ecuadorian people Know Riobamba Sultana of the Andes our (nickname) because this City is located in between of the following mountain, West for Chimborazo with 6310m. (20’696feet) North East for Tungurahua Volcano with 5016m (16’452feet). On the East side El Altar massive with 5319m (17’446feet) continue with our over view for the el Altar in the same hill I have a small peak Cubillines in the south East reach of al Altar, behind of this hill we have to look the very famous Sangay Volcano with 5230m (17’154feet). In the South East side form Riobamba. For all this reason Riobamba take the nickname Sultana of the Andes.

Sangay trek is beautiful wilderness area with excellent opportunities for trekking and climbing, Sangay National Parks was created in 1979. This park is protected 270.000 hectares of such biological richness that UNESCO declared it a world heritage site four years later, in 1992 the Ecuadorian Government added a large chunk to the southern and more than doubling the size of the Park to 517,725 hectares.

We have in Ecuador central Sierra the most large Park which includes three provinces, Chimborazo, Tungurahua and Morona Santiago, this last province connecting to the Amazon area. Flora and Fauna: From the lowland rainforest to alpine tundra, not surprisingly is home to a staggering diversity of flora and fauna. The park range encloses 10 different life zones, cold form 4,400 meters, warm form from 3,000 to 2000 meters (or microclimates), Hot after 1,900 meters. For all this variation in the Sangay park is possible to look a different species of Flowers, Animals, like a anteaters, jaguars, monkeys Etc. Large animals are concerning in the park’s lowers south side, Around the Sangay park we estimated a 500 species of bird. In the higher regions protected one of the last sizable refuges of the Andean Tapir, bear and deer, is possible to look in the way up of the Sangay Trek.

Climbing the Fiery Mountain: Do you what to live an incredible adventure through the gorgeous Andean highlands, climb a living mountain, help conserve a pristine wilderness.

The fiery mountain is situated in a very remote area, for climbing Sangay in all many ways is difficult and dangerous, it is said to be most continuously active in South America and the constant shower of red hot rock and ash makes all attempts to climbing it an exceedingly hazardous venture. The volcanological situation changes from one hour to hour and year to year too, the way up is not a technically and difficult to climb, but of course attempting it run the risk of the explosions. Year to year we have a good successful for reach the summit, some other time we are turn around from the base camp with out our gold summit. But the Nature is fantastic, long valleys, Andean forest, great Parámo around our over view. Also you have a contact in this trek with local Andean people that live in this area and that work with us to. The people who live here help to conserve a pristine wilderness area of Sangay. Between E.A.I. and you, we help and give the support to an indigenous community.
