Fly via helicopter into the New Zealand wilderness and raft out on the beautiful upper Hokitika Gorge. Medium sized rapids (grade 3 and 4) are perfect for first time rafters or the more experienced. Enjoy a healthy riverside lunch, cliff jump, and enjoy the awesome scenery.
Free pick up and drop off from your accommodation in Hokitika or Greymouth. Trips leave at 10:00 am daily and return around 4:00 pm. We provide all necessary gear, all you need is a swimsuit and towel. We have highly experienced, entertaining guides and photo and video services are available for purchase at the end of your trip.
We take a drive down the west coast to the town of Hokitika. The quality of the rivers in this area attracts kayakers from all over the world. We then board another helicopter and fly into the mountains to the Kakariki Canyon on the Hokitika River, well known for its deep gorges and narrow canyon walls. After 3-4 hours on the water, rafting grade IV-V rapids through some of the most mind blowing scenery this country has to offer, we emerge onto the coastal plains near Hokitika.
Note: Minimum age of 13 years, and able to swim. No experience necessary.
