Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Fly from Delhi to Kol.3 hours drive to Sanejakhali Jetty.2.5 hours cruise to Sunderbans Jungle Camp. Sajnekhali has a bird sanctuary and is the only place to have a hotel in this area - the Sundar Cheetal Tourist Lodge. There is a Mangrove Interpretation Center here. There are watchtowers at Sajnekhali, Sudhanyakhali, Netidhopan, Haldi and a number of other places. Overnight halt.
Day 2: Fullday birding in the creeks,canals and from watch towers. Overnight at Sunderbans Jungle Camp.
Day 3: Morning birding cruise in the narrow creeks by manually oared boat followed by full day birding in the sanctuary. Overnight at Sunderbans Jungle Camp.
Day 4: Early morning departure for Kolkata.Fly off to Dibrugarh. 5/6 hours drive to Namdapha. Overnight at Deban Forest Rest House or Camp Namdapha.
Day 5: Fullday birding at Namdapha. Namdapha is one of the excellent National Parks in India located in the eastern end of Arunachal bordering Myanmar. Namdapha’s great attitudinal variations have resulted in a great diversity of birds. It has about 300 or more bird species like as Ibisbill, Long- billed Plover, White-bellied Heron, Crested and Blyth’s Kingfisher, Black-breasted Thrush, Slender-billed Scimitar-Babbler, Snowy throated Babbler, Rufous-necked Laughingthrush, Pale Blue Flycatcher, Large-billed Leaf Warbler etc. Overnight at Deban/Camp Namdapha.
Day 6: Birding trek to Haldibari (5 km). Overnight camping.
Day 7: Birding trek to Hornbill (6 km). Overnight camping.
Day 8: Birding trek to Bulbulia (2.5 km). Overnight camping at Hornbill.
Day 9: Trek back to Haldibari. Overnight camping.
Day 10: Back to Namdapha.Overnight at Deban FRH or Camp Namdapha.
Day 11: Proceed to Digboi (3/4 hours). Halfday birding in Digboi forest. Overnight at OIL guest house.
Day 12: Fullday birding at Digboi forest. Overnight at OIL guest house.
Day 13: Drive to Nameri. Nameri Tiger Reserve is nestled at the foothills of Eastern Himalayas; it covers an area of 200 Sq. Kms. Situated in the eastern border of Assam valley and mountainous Arunachal Pradesh, it’s a very scenic sanctuary with river Jia Bhoroli bifurcating through. Nameri is home to some of of the endangered species like White-winged Wood Duck, and many other winged species like Grey-capped Pygmy Woodpecker, Himalayan Flameback, Greater Flameback etc. Overnight at Eco Camp.
Day 14: Fullday birding at Nameri. Overnight at Eco Camp.
Day 15: Transfer to Dibrugarh/Guwahati. Fly out for Delhi.
