The Catamount Trail, which runs the length of Vermont's Green Mountains and is interspersed with fine country inns, offers the avid skier excellent terrain for a unique inn to inn skiing experience. The Catamount Excursion is a four-night trip connecting Blueberry Hill Inn, Churchill House Inn, and Fox Creek Inn. The tour is self-guided and is available as a beginner/intermediate "touring cat" or as an advanced-only "wild cat" itinerary.
Wild cat skiers enjoy 8 to 11 miles of skiing along backcountry trails. Spruce and birch forests, mountain brooks panoramic vistas, beaver ponds, and secluded lakes are all part of this adventure. Remember that the Catamount Trail is a wilderness ski trail. While efforts have been made to remove hazards from the trail, some may exist. For those of limited experience who would nevertheless like to participate, we recommend skiing each day at the touring center near the inn on our touring cat itinerary.
Features of the tour include the cozy accommodations, congenial company and excellent cuisine of unique country inns, point to point skiing, and a car shuttle that allows participants to place cars at each day's trail end. Maps are provided for each day's trip. Trips can be arranged for more or fewer nights.
Notes:
Airfare is not included in the tour price.
* Catamount Excursion tours include multi-course served dinner nightly, full hot breakfasts each morning, packed skier's lunch daily, all accommodations, taxes, and gratuities. Trips can be customized based on availability at the inns.
