William A. (Bill) Henderson started M18476 to do walking tours on the Fraser Island Great Walk. As a long time visitor and amateur tour guide on the island Bill conceived the idea of multi-day walking tours after the Queensland Environmental Protection Agency completed the 90 kilometre walk in 2004.
It took two years of negotiations and an exhausting process of application through an Expressions of Interest procedure to gain an agreement with the Queensland Government. Fraser Island is listed as a World Heritage Site and is unique in the world as the world's largest sand island and is recognised in Australia and overseas as an environmental icon. It was a great achievement to gain this agreement and attests to Bill's standing as an experienced and knowledgable visitor to the island and a competentent well referenced businessman.
On a personal level Bill grew up in a family motel on Queensland's famous Gold Coast and has tourism in his blood. As an adult he has been a host to international travellers for 15 years through the WWOOF scheme. Business-wise he was Export Despatch Manager with Wide Bay Bricks and Export Manager with QC Bricks of Bundaberg Queensland for 7 years. Relationships and customer service are the hallmarks of Bill's business interests and abilities and people and the environment are his personal passions.
M18476 is a member of Fraser Coast South Burnett Tourism Board, Noosa Tourism and the Australian Tourism Data Warehouse.
