The Accademia Europea di Firenze is one of the fastest growing schools in Florence, located in the center of the historic part of the city, it is a short walk from many of Italy’s most important sights, as well as, restaurants, shops, pubs, parks, night clubs and other places. The AEF staff will welcome you and take care of any arrangements you may need to make your stay the most enjoyable and comfortable possible.
The courses are designed for students who either wish to begin, better or perfect their playing of a musical instrument of choice (strings/wind woods/brass/percussion). AEF will provide an instructor for any instrument and for any level. Here you can study violin, guitar, viola, cello, bass, harp, flute, oboe, double-bass, clarinet, trumpet, horn, trombone, tuba and others. The teacher will provide you with specific techniques to enable you to be able to play famous pieces of music as well as be creative and develop your own music.
During the selected instrument's course students will remove the technical obstacles that hinder self expression through the instrument and ultimately enable students to deliver professional performances in a variety of situations. It focuses on two main areas: being physically able to play with the fluidity, deftness and ability of a seasoned performer, and arriving at that point through logical, structured practice. The courses will also assist learners to develop the skills necessary to deal with the challenges of reading and notating music and to understand the fundamental principles of music with all of the knowledge that musicians need to effectively develop their creative and technical skills in their instruments.
Faculty Information:
Our collaborators and instructors are active musicians, both soloists and members of Florence's major music ensembles such as Maggio Musicale Fiorentino and the Orchestra Regionale Toscana. Teaching on a one-to-one basis is definitely the most productive way of learning. The student can be from any level including beginner, elementary and advanced, since the classes are private, the teacher can focus on the needs and objectives of each student individually.
Other Activities:
Aside from regular courses our school offers a rich program of optional language and cultural activities (concerts, seminars, films, visits to museums and farms) as well as extra-curricular and recreational activities (parties, dinners, food and wine tasting, sports, etc.) which are offered every week to ensure the enjoyment and cultural fulfillment of the students.

Our students can choose from among the following types of accommodations:
- Private apartment. This is the best option for those who want to be completely autonomous and free to host friends and family. All apartments are furnished and equipped with kitchen utensils.
- Student apartment. This option allows students to share an apartment with other students (foreign and Italian). Apartments are well equipped and furnished.
- Family-stay. Living with an Italian family is a good way to practice the language and experience the Italian way of life. All families are used to hosting foreign students and willing to share with you their daily routines and traditions.
- Other solutions. It is also possible to reserve accommodations in pensions, hotels, residence or religious institutions.
