You will study French art vocabulary and the evolution of main artists in France throughout the centuries. There will be analysis of reproductions (displayed on a large screen), study of the development of specific vocabulary and an exchange of impressions. Most importantly, you will have 4 afternoon guided museum visits to the Matisse museum, Modern Art museum, Théatre de la Photo and the Chagall museum to really immerse yourself in the greatness of these French artists.

Lessons: 20 group morning lessons of French + 10 Art History lessons over 4 afternoons per week

This course is designed for art lovers who would like to expand their knowledge of art history in France. Explore the lives and works of the many famous artists who have spent time in Nice and its region – Matisse, Chagall, Picasso, Duffi, Léger, Klein and Armand!

Upon arrival at our French language school, you will be given a free guide book that contains information about Nice and its surroundings and taken on a guided tour of the old town. There will be no lessons held that day just the written and placement oral test, a free guided tour of Nice and time to familiarise yourself with the city. Please bring a passport photo for your student card which will give you discounts on things such as the cinema, local transport, museums etc.
The school has a cultural officer who can assist you with any questions you may have and who organizes a variety of leisure and cultural activities which you may enjoy participating in. These include French films and theme evenings at the school, beach parties, pub outings, bowling and discos. There are also excursions such as hiking, rafting, beginners diving, conferences, wine and cheese tasting, guided museum tours and the multitude of events that the Riviera hosts.
These programs are optional and participation is generally free of charge except for entrance and transportation fees which are paid on the day.

Located in the heart of Nice, our family-run French language school is situated in a charming 100 year old mansion. Amidst a beautiful garden that is perfect for spending your breaks, the school is in great proximity to shops, the beach and the old town of Nice. The school offers air-conditioned rooms, a modern, well-equipped Centre with free email/internet access, wireless facilities and fax. It also has access and amenities for the disabled.
During the high season, July and August, our French partner school offers a summer center situated close to the Roman Arenas and the Matisse and Chagall museums. This is also a lovely building with similar facilities.
There are many direct international flights into Nice airport, making the French language school easily accessed from many places in the world.
