Your Itinerary:
Day 1: Guests will arrive in Portland, Maine and be escorted to Castine by Nina Fuller in private vehicle. Castine is a small picturesque village located on a peninsula in the East Penobscot Bay Region of Maine. The town is on the National Register of historic Places. With more then 100 historic markers, Castine is characterized by its 18th century architecture. You'll arrive at the beautiful Manor Inn, with extremely comfortable en suite room with spectacular views of the Ocean. After a dinner (independent) guests will meet with Nina to discuss the next very exciting 3 days.
Day 2: Wake to the most beautiful light in the country this time of year. After breakfast there will be reviews of portfolios and camera equipment. If you don't have photographs to bring, that is no problem. Don't stress about your past work. You will hike some coastal trails, photographing and discussing all the way. In the afternoon you will explore the beautiful coastal town of Castine. Visit the lighthouse and if in dock, tour the Maine Maritime ship. Enjoy photographing of lobster men, birds, boats, and landscapes. There will be free time if you need it to rest, shop, read. If you prefer to continue with your own photography that's okay too. In the evening, the group will gather and discuss the day’s progress. Independent dinner and a welcome bed.
Day 3: After breakfast you will take a one hour scenic drive to a local stable and have the opportunity to stop for anything of interest along the way. There will be opportunity to ride and also to photograph riders. After lunch you will hike to the top of Great Pond Mountain with spectacular views over the ocean on one side and the lake on the other and practice photographing in this wonderful time of day with the warm last rays of the sun falling below the horizon. The evening light is the most beautiful and if you like, you may continue photographing until it's dark. Independent dinner and discussion of the day.
Day 4: Today you will revisit your most favorite spots and probably find some new ones. A discussion of what you have learned and what you need to work on and practice will also be offered. This is a great chance to review and to get any last minute technique questions answered. Tonight is your last night and you will end with a traditional lobster dinner which was probably caught by the same lobster man you photographed on your trip.
Day 5: After breakfast, independent transfer or return to Portland with Nina.
