Berlin is now, officially, the capital of Germany. New buildings, built by world-class architects have sprouted up throughout the 'New Berlin'. The city has maintained a cultural richness, sustaining a fascinating and diverse selection of museums and monuments. Still a city of two sides, the west embraces alternative lifestyles with a vivacious nightlife and an atmosphere of mounting excitement while the east is a journey through a living museum. Beyond the main thoroughfares there are lively bars, all night entertainment and interesting little cafés.
* German Language: At our school we are keen to help you achieve your language ambitions. There are many reasons that you may want to learn German. The total immersion itself is a sure way to improve your language rapidly. By providing you with a full range of programs and supplying plenty of possible destinations, we are sure that we can help you progress your language and give you a memorable experience.
* German Courses Information: We have tried to make choosing your course and destination relatively easy by not including every course in every one of our language schools. Using our experience we are confident that we are offering courses at the top German language centers in Germany. You can find the following types of courses to learn German in Germany:
- Gap Year - German and Work experience: This combines a German course of minimum 4 weeks with a work experience in a Berlin based company of 6, 8 or 12 weeks. We have recommended that you do an intensive German Course as your host company will expect at least intermediate level proficiency in German for full-day on-the-job training. If your German isn´t on that level yet, you can either take a highly intensive course or extend the language training period.
The work experience starts after you have finished your German course. It is unpaid and lasts 6, 8 or 12 weeks. This program is not open to beginners. We can offer internships in the following areas: Marketing, Banking, Insurance, Travel and Tourism, Graphics and Design Social Services, Political Organizations, Communication.
- Survival German – German language courses for people with limited if any knowledge of the language.
- General intensive German: The most popular group courses covering everyday use of the language for people with varying knowledge of the German language. Students will be tested to find out their level on the first day of their course. Ideal for people with a “rusty” level of German, or those who have just completed a German Evening class course.
- German super intensive language course: This course is an 'add-on' to the standard course: In addition to 4 morning lessons there are 2 more lessons in a mini group where you consolidate skills. Afternoon lessons take place after a lunch break from 13.00 to 14.30 with an average of 3 and a maximum of 6 students per class.
- German for work: German language courses for those who need the language for business or for their work. Our school provides a range of semi to more intensive Italian programs, including one-to-one courses, across the destinations.
- Gap Year: Courses for students taking a year out before/after tertiary education, offering an accredited exam at the end.
- Live and Study Homestay in a German Teacher’s home: The most effective way to learn a language, where you can live and study in a teacher’s home. This is a total immersion course.
* German Courses Accommodation Info: We have a made a selection of what we consider to be the best accommodation at each location. Our school not only offers a wealthy range of courses, but also a wide selection accommodation to suit your needs: host family, student residence, private or shared flat and hotels.
Faculty Information:
All our staff are qualified, dedicated and experienced teachers who are native or bilingual speakers of German. Direct Communicative Technique methods are used throughout. These are currently considered the most effective systems of broadening the students' knowledge of vocabulary, structures and idiom.
Classes are normally run between Mondays & Fridays. Due to varying travel schedules, alternative arrangements can be made. Students’ level of proficiency is established through a written assessment test on the first day of school.
Other Activities:
The activities inside Berlin and the trips to other German cities are a perfect way to combine sightseeing and socializing. You can join our weekly Happy Hour. Every Monday night we invite all newcomers as well as "old" students for a free drink . The seminars or films, that we offer every Thursday afternoon, are free. We have several sightseeing opportunities each week - Tiergarten Park and Brandenburg Gate for example. We offer a minimum of 3 after-class activities (in summer 6) per week in and around Berlin. Twice a month we offer trips to other cities in Germany, and occasionally to Prague.
Facility Information:
Founded in 1983, our language center is accredited locally by the Berlin Senate. We are members of major professional associations such as EAQUALS European Association for Quality Language Services, FIYTO, IALC International Association of Language Centers.
