A visit to St Petersburg is not unlike coming to the ballet at the Mussorgsky Theatre. It has grace and elegance on a grand scale. St Petersburg is just under four hours' flight from the UK. Most visitors head straight for the palatial State Hermitage in the city center to take in everything on show you'll have to cover a distance of 24 miles.
They have one of the biggest single collections of Rembrandts in the world here: 24, all bought by Katherine the Great. See 'the Idiot'. Beside the River Moyka is the Idiot restaurant, which takes its name from one of the novels of Dostoyevsky, St Petersburg's most famous literary resident. There is a choice of traditional Russian, or vegetarian food. Try some typical Russian food - borsch (soup), blinis and caviar, with vodka!
Our standard course gives participants the chance to talk and to play different roles, and to learn communicative skills in "real life" situations. Communicative teaching in small groups (maximum 10 participants per group) make our courses a pleasurable and productive experience. For participants of four weeks or longer, we build upon the grammar basics of the first module.
Faculty Information:
Our center in St Petersburg combines excellent teaching with modern facilities. There is more to learning Russian than just a good and reliable curriculum. We take great importance to familiarize all our students with today's Russia, both culturally and emotionally.
Our center became the first private language school in Russia to gain international recognition when it became full member of the International Association of Language Centres IALC in 1997. It is to date the only private language center which was admitted into ROPRYAL, the prestigious Russian Association for Teaching of Russian Language and Literature and is an official preparation center for the state exam, RUSSIAN as a FOREIGN LANGUAGE (TRKI).
Other Activities:
We have a special ticketing service within the school. For a fee, we can book tickets for many different cultural events, from ballet to open-air concerts or football matches. We can also sell train and air tickets for weekend trips and can book hotels in other parts of Russia. Some activities are free, such as the city tour for new students and our Friday cocktail.
