We offer all levels of Spanish, from beginners until superior. Classes start every Monday and are held from Monday through Friday; students may study from one week to however many weeks they wish. We use a series of workbooks and textbooks, which include general Spanish as a foundation as well as specific professional vocabulary and themes depending on the special area of health care practiced by the student.

Our methodology is based on the concept of total immersion in the Spanish language. All materials integrate Spanish language education in the four linguistic abilities: speaking, comprehension, reading and writing. We offer two Spanish programs, 4 hours or 6 hours per day, with or without home stay, with or without excursions.

Classes may take place in the morning or afternoon depending on the number of students enrolled and the discretion of the administration; this is done in order to provide our participants with the best service possible. Specialized Spanish courses are offered exclusively as individual classes in order to provide each participant with the instructional material and themes corresponding to his/her specialization. We take pride in our high quality instructional materials and effective teaching staff.

- Some instructors hold a graduate degree and others present additional studies like journalism, law, biology, theology, medicine etc.
- Most of our teachers have worked at our school for more than three years and all have ample experience teaching Spanish as a second language.
- Our instructors are all very professional, enthusiastic and friendly and consider teaching the Spanish language as their mission.

Homestay: Our families, all of which are carefully screened and accustomed to hosting foreign students, live within the area of the school so that students may either walk to class each day or take the bus. The host families are patient and extend themselves to help our student to learn Spanish. With the families, our participants are totally immersed in the Costa Rican culture and have the opportunity to practice Spanish daily.

The family provides participants with breakfast, dinner or lunch as well as laundry service. The standard of living of the host families is considered middle class by Costa Rican standard. In general, participants find a simpler way of life than to which they are accustomed to. However, Costa Rica is not a typical developing country and many homes have the same consumer items which are found in North America and Europe. Our participants have a room of their own.

Other Activities:
Regular activities: Latin American dance lessons, Costa Rican cooking classes, visits of the central market, tropical fruits presentation, excursions to the center of San José in order to visit cultural places of interest (National Museum, National Theater, etc.), visits of the University of Costa Rica, graduation celebrations on Fridays

Possible activities: Trips to different volcanoes (Poás, Irazú, Arenal and Hot Thermal Springs "Tabacon"), White Water Rafting Tours in tropical rivers, excursions to National Parks (for example Tortuguero National Park), to the Orosi Valley/Orchid, Orchid Garden "Lankester", to the Handicraft Village Grecia/Sarchi, trips with the Rain Forest Aerial Tram, visits to a nearby butterfly farm as well as coffee plantation, etc.

Programs including excursions will give you the opportunity to improve your knowledge of the Spanish language and get to know the country and its people from all points of view. All excursions are held in Spanish.
