The school is open all year round and it's possible to enroll at any time: every Monday the new students take a little test to determine their level and to enable us to create homogeneous classes. Classes are always small (minimum 2 - maximum 6). There are six levels recognized by the Common European Framework for Languages: from elementary to upper level.
Our courses, specially tailored to any requirement, are aimed to exploring all the specific linguistic areas such as Italian for art or architecture, history; Italian for economics, business, medicine, banking etc. The student can choose one the following courses:
Standard courses
- Intensive group (20 hours/week Italian Language and Culture)
- Combined (20 hours/week classes + 10 hours/week individual)
- Individual intensive (20/30 hours/week)
- Individual non intensive (10 hours/week).
Special courses
- Language Nature and Sporting activities (20 hours/week classes + 3 afternoon sporting activities/week)
- Language Mediterranean cuisine and the Wine Trail (20 hours/week classes + 3 afternoon special activities/week)

Our method of teaching is essentially based on the communicative approach and utilizes classroom activities which encourage practical application of the language. It includes elements of analysis, assimilation, revision and oral language production based on topics linked to our countries current social and cultural situation. The student are expected to participate actively in the classroom, interacting with one another through group-work, games and
role-plays.
Faculty Information:
Our school was founded in 1986 in collaboration with the Koinč School in Florence. Also presently with the University for Foreigners of Siena, our school offers courses which can be accumulated for university credits for students from universities all over the world.
For over 20 years it has accompanied students on their journey of discovery of, not just the Italian language, but also of this unique, natural and historic region.
It is run by a co-operative of highly qualified teachers with many years experience of teaching Italian as a foreign language. Over the years, they have built up their know-how in inter cultural communication, including the design of courses aimed at the linguistic and cultural integration of foreign students in state schools.
Other Activities:
Cultural activities take place three times a week:
Two afternoons a week we organize cultural meetings on a variety of subjects (Italian songs, cinema, theatre, history, art and literature etc.). Once a week included in the General Language and Culture Course there are trips to the local nature reserves and parks, to the islands off the Tuscan coast, archaeological sites and old town centers. (all the cultural activities and guided excursion are included in the cost of the course).
The direct contact with the many different aspects of the Italian environment combines the ease of acquiring specific areas of vocabulary with the enjoyment of exploring the local nature and history.
On Saturday students will be able to enroll at a whole day guided tour to the city of Siena and neighbouring towns of Montepulciano and Pienza: visit of historical sites, lunch in typical local restaurant and evening stopover at a wine cellar to taste the local famous wines. (The cost of this activity is not included in the price of the course).
