Students will develop their drawing skills, learn how to use watercolours effectively to create work inspired by nature and most importantly, they will be able to successfully complete botanical illustrations and compositions. Each participant will independently work on a set of assignments in the afternoon hours, and work will be assessed on each of the following days.

This course is for beginners but previous experience in watercolour painting is essential. This course explores the following:
- Perspective drawing
- Colour mixes
- Tones and shadows
- Monochromatic studies
- Observation and rendering
- Composition
- Greens, whites and grays
- Pencil additions
- Botanical illustrations vs botanical paintings
- Textures
- Leaf studies.

Italian and international students interact in the same classes, making it an ideal venue to share ideas and enhance your overall experience.

Faculty Information:
Led by artist Annamaria Aulicino, this course is based on step-by-step demonstrations as well as independent work in order that each student can practice at their own pace.

Other Activities:
It is an ideal base for further exploration as it is located near castles, forts, churches and abbeys which are well worth a visit.

Facility Information:
Accommodation (6 nights, self catering) single room: Euro 300 - double room Euro 220 per person - dates can be extended for those who would like to explore the region. There are rooms available in Bed and Breakfasts in the area.
