As an accomplished writer, you might seek authentic ways to write even more deeply into your memoir, poetry, fiction, songs, or screenplay. Or you might be seeking ways to awaken your vision as an artist or photographer. Or perhaps you simply yearn to unearth a burrowed creative yearning. Or possibly you desire deeper ways to teach students the art of writing. Regardless of your intention, this retreat welcomes you. Seasoned & fresh writers and artists alike attend these retreats and mutually benefit. No yoga background is required - although experienced yogis consistently experience their practice anew. The yoga is adaptable for every body.
We'll move, sit, write, sketch, and explore the outdoors. We'll study the works & words of renowned writers; create some more; and share (optionally) in a safe yet honest environment. We'll leave with new writing, new art, new views, and new friends.
You will have the freedom to do as you wish at this retreat. Collectively, though, we will explore the tricky nature of vision that affects our creative process and how to re-vision our creative work without attachment. Between the generous free time, we will gather to explore how Yoga can be woven into our creative process & to write & create, to wander outdoors for Jeffrey's vision field experiences, and to share our work and journey.
Absorb the free time & wide New Mexico space to honor your muse, to walk to the Taos Plaza, to hike in the Taos Ski Valley, to walk-n-talk with a new friend, to visit the Taos Pueblo, to meet with Jeffrey for a private coaching session, or to rejuvenate your spirit & soul.

Other Activities:
Each morning will include an hour of yoga, appropriate for anybody (& any body) plus a two-hour to two-and-a-half-hour session that will blend yoga tools with writing experiences. Activities also will lead us outdoors to awaken the several facets of our active compassion necessary writers and artists. This retreat is open to writers of writing backgrounds and yoga backgrounds. The movements are adaptable to anyone including writers who prefer to sit in chairs.
Facility Information:
The Mabel Dodge Luhan House is the place in Taos to explore your creativity. A renegade New York socialite, Mabel Dodge left behind city comforts to carve her creative path on the Taos arroyos. She and her lover Tony built the charming and spacious "adobe farmhouse" that we rent out for your retreat. Some of you will sleep in rooms where Georgia O'Keeffe, D. H. Lawrence, Ansel Adams, and other creative luminaries rested their spirits.
In March, the last hints of winter fading, the house is quiet. We often have the whole space - minus the delightful staff - to ourselves. The Mabel Dodge chef extraordinary will pamper us with her renowned breakfast buffets and lunches.
Available rooms will vary according to retreat size, but register early to get your favorite room.
We will be very mindful about pairing you off with other writers. We'll put night owls with night owls, the quiet ones with quiet ones, and so forth. A few private rooms will be available at an extra cost, but previous participants with roommates usually leave with a new friend.
