Hello from St. Petersburg!
My name is Anna and I’ve been a licensed tour guide in St. Petersburg since 2000. I have designed this itinerary for those who are interested in seeing the most popular sites in St. Petersburg, in a private tour environment for just your group. Included with the listed fees is everything described in this itinerary, so there are no surprises when you arrive. You’ll also find an explanation why the prices are different for cruise ship passengers -vs- those staying in a hotel.

Day 1 Tour
I will meet you either at the ship or at your hotel based on how you are arriving and where you are staying in St. Petersburg. We’ll have a private driver and vehicle for up to 8 hours and will begin the day by exploring the most popular sites in St. Petersburg for photo opportunities. We can highlight your specific areas of interest such as architectural masterpieces, Jewish St. Petersburg, or World War Two historical sites. After the driving tour, our first stop will be at Palace Square, which is the location of the Hermitage Museum and Winter Palace. With over 3 million pieces of art, the Hermitage is the largest art museum on the planet. Next is a visit to the Peterhof Grounds and Grand Palace. Perterhof is known as the Russian Versailles with countless fountains and cascades. It is also the home of the world noted golden fountain of the Samson. The day will conclude with the driver bringing us back to the ship or to your hotel.
Day 2 Tour
Today a driver and I will meet you at the ship or in the lobby of your hotel. The driver will stay with us for the duration of the 8-hour tour day. To start the day, we’ll have short highlights driving tour accenting different areas of the city other than we saw on first day. The driving tour will include highlights of the wealthiest areas with the most impressive architecture in St. Petersburg. If you would like, we can also visit the areas of St. Petersburg where the average lower economical class citizens live. Soon we’ll arrive in the St. Petersburg countryside at Pushkin and the Village of the Czars. Here we will visit Catherine’s Palace and the Amber Room. After enjoying our time in the countryside, we will return to the area of the downtown, where we will visit the Church on Spilled Blood. This church is famous as a museum of Mosaics and Onion Domes. It is also the place where Czar Alexander II was murdered. Our driver will then take us to the Peter and Paul Fortress and Cathedral, which is the very first construction of St. Petersburg. At the conclusion of our visit to the Fortress, the driver will bring us back to the ship or your hotel.

CRUISE ARRIVAL FEES
WHY IS THE FEE DIFFERENT THAN IF I’M STAYING IN A HOTEL?
There are two main reasons. The first is that my tours for cruise passengers include Visa Free program vouchers, so you DON’T need to buy an expensive Russian Visa. For a regular Russian Visa, Americans typically pay $220 per person and UK citizens pay over 100 Pounds per person after all the fees are added! Since you don’t have to pay the fees for a regular visa, it means big savings for you in the long run. The second reason is that this tour also includes port access that allows the driver and me to enter the international area of the port to pick your group up directly from the ship.

FEES IF STAYING IN A HOTEL
WHY IS THE FEE LOWER THAN IF I’M STAYING ON A SHIP?
I will send you a visa support (invitation) document that you will need to get a visa. I’ll also send you instructions for how to fill out the Russian visa application. With the invitation document and instructions I supply, you will need to purchase your visa from the embassy. The price for the visa itself will depend on your nationality and is not included in the price of this tour. Only the invitation you’ll need to obtain the visa is included in the fee. Please check with your country's Russian embassy to verify visa prices for your nationality. You will pay these additional fees directly to the embassy and not to me. Ship passengers have a different set of requirements for their visa program, so their price is different.
