Travelling through the beautiful south Bohemian countryside, you will arrive at Hluboká Chateau, which was rebuilt in the spirit of the romantic English Gothic style, based on royal Windsor Castle. It was the wish of the countess Elizabeth Schwarzenberg who was invited in 1837 at the coronation of the Queen Victoria to England and had the opportunity to see the Royal Castle. After the arrival to Hluboká, she persuadeted her husband to reconstruct their palace into the castle seen in Windsor. In the Czech state it is a rare example of the English architecture.
Inside there are magnificent collections of furniture, tapestries, porcelain, paintings and weapons. Mainly all wooden details worth admiring. It is one of the richest and nicest Czech castles, visited by thousands of tourists each year.
After visiting the Hluboká castle you will be taken to the second most visited town in the Czech Republic, magic and fabulous city of Ceský Krumlov, situated nearby Czech borders. This town has always the atmosphere of ancient centuries, each house in the city center reminds the fame and splendor of Renaissance period. Don´t miss it! In the city center there are only houses with a rich and beautiful decoration on facades, narrow medieval streets full of picturesque shops and restaurants, interesting art galleries where you can find charming old pictures made during the last centuries. In the world there are no towns with such authentic atmosphere! Ceský Krumlov was put on the UNESCO List of World Cultural Heritage in 1992. In Ceský Krumlov you have to slacken the pace, to choose any small terrace or romantic restaurant garden by the Vltava River and to enjoy the moment. You will not regret!
Note! When the Hluboká Castle is closed, instead of it, you will visit the small Holašovice village near Hluboká. It is the typical village in the rural Baroque style, which is on the UNESCO Heritage List. You can take nice romantic pictures of local colored houses around the charming pond.
Note: no tours in March, no tours on Mondays.
