Moscow & St. Petersburg Custom Tours. We provide everything to make a visit to Russia’s most magnificent cities fun, safe and efficient. We design the tour and create an itinerary based on your responses to our exclusive “Tourist Survey”.
We provide licensed private guides, custom design your itinerary and make the necessary museum reservations (Kremlin, Peterhof, Catherine’s Palace and the Hermitage must all be reserved in advance). We even arrange hotels and assist in all aspects of obtaining your Russian visa including obtaining the visa-enabling documents.
By pre- purchasing intra-country train tickets and theater tickets you avoid waiting in lines when you should be sightseeing. By pre-purchasing your tickets we also help assure that you will get the train or theater tickets you want.
Other features unique to our service include the popular “Russian Evening”. During your Russian Evening you and your guide are the invited guests into a real Russian home for dinner. The hosts provide a traditional, fancy Russia meal, acquaint you with Russian customs and give you an opportunity to see real Russian family life. This evening is a favorite among our clients. The Russian Evening is optional only in St. Petersburg.
For clients who have a few extra days we have guides and accommodations in Novgorod, the ancient Russian capitol and Kizhi the location of a famous island monastery & museum. Visitors to Novgorod are afforded the opportunity to visit the ancient kremlin, a Russian village museum, a traditional Russian banya (bathhouse similar to a sauna), horseback riding and visits to World War II battlefields.
Due to our special relationships with hotels, we can often save you money as compared to clients who try to “go it alone”. Navigation and negotiation are very difficult in Russia if you do not speak or read the language. Many museums are closed on certain days of the week or have reduced entry hours for tourists unaccompanied by a guide. For those reasons alone it is wise to have a guide.
Unlike Western Europe, guide services start at $140 per day in St. Petersburg and $200 per day in Moscow. That is not per person. It is for up to 3 persons. Above 3 persons and a small, per person, surcharge applies. Sample pricing of a 4 day, 3 night Moscow custom tour, exclusive of hotel*, is $628 per person. Sample pricing of a 4 day, 3 night St. Petersburg custom tour, exclusive of hotel*, is $452 per person. The above quotes include private guide for your party, admissions, public transportation to sites, transfers to and from airports, visa enabling documents and custom itinerary planning.
Hotels in Russia vary greatly. Due to our relationships with boutique hotels, we can offer hotel accommodations suitable for Western tourists for as little as $75 per person per night.
