Here are some great ideas for full day tours:
*** MONTSERRAT + WINE COUNTRY
Weekdays: 690 euro.
- Montserrat: Spiritual heart of Catalonia and Natural Park. Impressive views of the Holy Mountain, entrance to the Basilica. Twice a day (noon and evening) the children choir sings the Virolai, the Black Madonna anthem. NOTE: This part of the tour can be changed for a trip to the roman ruins of Tarragona).
- Wine country: Visit a wine or cava (local sparkling wine) cellar and learn the process of wine making. NOTE: This part of the trip can be changed for the seaside village of Sitges or the Gaudi Güell Colony chapel.
***GIRONA + DALI MUSEUM
Weekdays: 790 euro.
- Dali Museum: The museum is considered itself the largest surrealist work in the world, as it was personally designed by Dalí not to look as a museum but a piece of art-work. It features one of the best collections about Dalí’s works in the world. See the famous Basket of Bread, the Galarina, and the Rainy Cadillac, among others. And be surprised to see the unusual place where he chose to to be buried.
NOTE: If Dali is not your thing, we can change this part of the trip for a seaside village, some archaeological ruins or the medieval mikhva of Besalú.
- Girona: More than two thousand years old city. Stroll around the medieval area. See the Cathedral and the narrow alleys of the Jewish Quarter. Optional entrance to the Cathedral and the Museum of the Jewish History.
NOTE: you can change this part of the trip for some more Dali sites (Cadaqués house or Púbol castle), a seaside village, some archaeological ruins. Cadaqués is charged a long-distance supplement.
*** COSTA BRAVA, THE WILD SEASIDE
A journalist gave it the name of “Wild Coast” because of its sharp cliffs and stone beaches. It covers the shore from Blanes to the French border. Choose one of the following itineraries:
- Blanes, Lloret and Tossa: See the rock that marks the beginning of the Costa Brava, the tourist resort of Lloret and the medieval ruins of the charming Tossa. Possibility of taking a one-hour boat ride from Lloret to Tossa, and enjoying the Tossa beach.
Weekdays: 790 euro.
- Roses and Cadaqués: Roses is one of the main fishermen towns of the area and has plenty of great fish restaurants. Culture lovers shouldn’t miss its Ciutadella, with roman, Greek and medieval ruins. Great sand beach. Cadaqués is maybe the most picturesque village in the Empordà county. Stroll up and down its romantic alleys, and discover the life of a village that had almost no contact with the in-land for centuries!
Weekdays: 880 euro (10h trip).
- Cadaqués and Portlligat: Near Cadaqués is located the house that Dalí bought in the bay of Portlligat. Visits to the house are very restricted: visitors must reserve in advanced and be scrupulously punctual or they risk losing their visiting turn.
Weekdays: 880 euro (10h trip).
*** TORTOSA
In the south of Catalonia, this city crossed by the Ebro river was the limit of the Christian Europe and the Muslim Spain during the Medieval times. Its monumental and historical heritage was left there by three cultures: Christian, Jewish and Muslim.
Weekdays: 880 euro (10h trip).
