Many interesting sites are at reach from Barcelona for a morning out. Here are some of my favorite places of interest (choose one for your tour):
- MOUNTAIN AND MONASTERY OF MONTSERRAT: Spiritual heart of Catalonia and Natural Park. Impressive views of the Holy Mountain, entrance to the Basilica. Twice a day (noon and evening) the children choir sings the Virolai, the Black Madonna anthem.450 euro.
- MEDIEVAL GIRONA: More than two thousand years old city. Stroll around the medieval area. See the Cathedral and the narrow alleys of the Jewish Quarter. Optional entrance to the Cathedral and the Museum of the Jewish History. 525 euro.
- THE WINE COUNTRY: Visit a wine or cava (local sparkling wine) cellar and learn the process of wine making and how this industry has always been attached to our country. 450 euro.
- GUELL COLONY: An industrial colony founded by the Count Güell, and the Crypt of the Church left unfinished by Gaudí. Discover the secrets hidden in its symbolism and be admired by its innovative engineering solutions, as you learn about the daily live of industrial revolution workers. 450 euro.
- SITGES: Old fishermen town where gathered the bohemian artists of the first generation of the Catalan Modernist Movement, and were built their houses the immigrants that came back rich from America. Stroll around its old section and its XIXth century expansion. Optional entrance to its modernist museums. 450 euro.
