As with rifle hunting your hunt starts the moment we collect you from the airport, and ceases only once you are safely on your way back home, having experienced a rewarding hunting experience with Bow Hunting Safaris on your African bow hunt. We undertake to attention every detail of the hunt, we will make you an ambassador for Bow Hunting Safaris in bow hunting whether you are a novice or an experienced bow hunter.
A very challenging and rewarding method in many different ways of hunting depending on the type of game that you wish to hunt is by bow. The hunter will at all times be accompanied by a Professional Hunter who too is involved in the sport of Bow hunting. Our guides are not only qualified to escort clients on plains game and exotic hunts, but are also certified through the NBEF (International Bow Education Foundation) to escort clients to hunt the Big Six (Elephant, Rhino, Buffalo, Lion, Leopard and Hippo). It is essential that on the more dangerous or bigger animals, for the bow hunter to be experienced and the right equipment must be used for success in landing your target.
Bow Hunting Safaris has exclusive rights for bow hunters in an area never hunted before, needless to say you can selectively judge your trophy to ensure quality - Bow-hunting only concessions. Our bow hunting hides consists of ground blinds and above ground hides and are situated near waterholes or feeding areas or alternately you can conduct walk and stalk hunts. The bow-hunter will have ample opportunity to sight his or her bow on the game ranch before the hunt. The use of anti-scent sprays are highly recommended. A good supply of arrows, spare broad head blades, strings and other spares should be brought with.
Bows Categories:
- Category 1: Small game including blesbok and nyala ewe but excluding a Nyala bull. 40lb bow with minimum arrow weight of 400gr.
- Category 2: Medium game including eland, giraffe, carnivores, bush pig, warthog, crocodile and baboon. 70lb bow with minimum arrow weight of 550gr.
- Category 3: Large game including buffalo, elephant, rhinoceros and hippopotamus. 80lb bow with minimum arrow weight of 700gr.
