The Bloodvein River is, as one past client put it, "magnificent"! Spectacular rapids, pink granite cliffs, incredible camp sites and ancient pictographs are the recipe for making it a Canadian Heritage River. With 15 or 8 day trips on this river your clients choose how long they want to be immersed in the geology of an ancient land. Immense pine forests, surrounded by granite out-croppings provide the backdrop for a canoe trip of a life-time. There are over 8 different pictograph sites along the 15 day route, the ancient red-ochre and fish oil mixture out-lasting climatic erosions. Finish your canoe adventure by taking part in a First Nations sweat lodge ceremony of purification and a traditional feast.

* 8-days on the Bloodvein River:

If you have limited time but want to experience this magnificent heritage river by air and water this 8 day trip is ideal. We begin by flying into Kautunigan Lake on the Bloodvein River. The following days are spent exploring the pristine, powerful Bloodvein River. The seventh day of our journey brings us to the Bloodvein First Nation where we will participate in a sweat lodge ceremony and be treated to a traditional meal. We'll then be ferried past the limestone cliffs and expansive vistas of Lake Winnipeg, one of Canada's most beautiful and largest lakes.

* 15-days on the Bloodvein River:

Following our flight into Artery Lake we discover one of Canada's finest pictograph sites. We'll paddle past 2.5 billion year old Precambrian shield cliffs as we descend the Bloodvein for the next 15 days. The river varies dramatically in width and character as it meanders through lakes and marshes and pours into narrow canyons. This beautiful Heritage river is ours to explore as we paddle through the heart of Atikaki Wilderness Park's Woodland Caribou breeding grounds. The fourteenth day of our journey brings us to the Bloodvein First Nation where we will participate in a sweat lodge ceremony and be treated to a traditional meal.
