2 Day Whitewater Raft Trip:
Description: This trip is great for those that are wondering what an overnight rafting adventure is like. We'll meet at our office at 9:00 AM in West Glacier where your guides will assist you with packing your gear in one of our waterproof bags. Then we will load everything in the van and drive to the launch site. The speed of the current changes with varying water levels so the put-in may differ from trip to trip. The Middle Fork of the Flathead River forms the southern boundary of Glacier National Park and offers exciting whitewater and pristine wilderness scenery. Most, but not all, of the white water occurs the last day when we take you through John Steven's Canyon. The rapids are rated a splashy class II and class III. That day be sure to wear clothes you don't mind getting wet. Early season as in June and early July you'll appreciate our wet suits which are provided at no additional cost. You'll be camping out at night, and your guide will pick a scenic spot along the river to set up camp to provide the setting for a peaceful night's sleep. There's nothing like waking to one of those Montana breakfasts. Our jovial guides will keep you well fed with a smile on your face.
The second day will have you off the river in the late afternoon and back to the office in West Glacier around 5:00 PM where the office staff will be anxious to hear of your adventures. Hooked on Fishing? If you are interested in fishing we suggest you bring your own gear. There is time to do some fishing in the evening and in the morning while your guides are preparing meals. We are strong believers in the "catch & release" philosophy with a deep concern to protect fisheries and hope you will assist with our efforts. A Montana State Fishing License is required for the river. A two-day nonresident license will cost around $10 and can be purchased in West Glacier. Suggested flies are: Caddis fly and nymph, Mayfly imitations, Adams, Midges, Wooly Buggers, Hare Ears, Teleco Shrimp, Zug Bugs, Royal Coachman and any of the Wulff's or Humpies. Of course, don't forget your favorite fly or lure.
Meeting Notes: Departures are on Wednedsays and Saturdays at 9 AM. Please meet at our office located 1.5 miles west of West Glacier on Highway 2.
