Hunting at Ross Hammock Ranch is done via tree stands and/or spot and stalk methods. Bay Dogs are available with prior request on Trophy Boar Hunts. Ross Hammock Ranch offers hunting via archery, rifle, shotgun, muzzleloader, or pistol for the following species:
Elk: Elk were once native to Florida and roamed freely across the State. Ross Hammock Ranch has located and re-introduced some absolutely massive Elk bulls and cows, which now breed naturally at Ross Hammock Ranch. The bulls are breathtaking, with mature animals scoring between 300 and 350+. The Elk cows have been selectively bred, prior to release into Ross Hammock Ranch with a 400 class bull. The Elk trophy of a life time can be taken at Ross Hammock Ranch.
Indian Blackbuck Antelope: The Blackbuck gets its name because of the black coat assumed by mature dominant males. Males grow ringed, corkscrew horns over 20 inches in length that result in a beautiful mount. These impressive animals are also well known for the quality of their meat.
Water Buffalo: Water Buffalo originate in Asia but adapt readily to the hot and wet Florida climate. Water Buffalo often look very similar to the African Cape Buffalo. They may exceed 1 ton in mass weight and are terrific table fare.
Wild Boar: Historians believe that Hernando de Soto originally brought the Spanish Wild Boar into Florida in the early 1500's. Since that time, they have reproduced and thrived in the rich habitat of Ross Hammock Ranch. Now, Ross Hammock Ranch offers trophy Wild Boar hunts as well as meat/BBQ hog hunts that are very exciting!
Osceola Turkey: A very large native population of Osceola Turkeys thrives at Ross Hammock Ranch. Turkey hunters know that the Osceola Turkey is a prized harvest because of its limited range and incredible eyesight. Many hunters take their first ever Osceola Turkey at Ross Hammock Ranch. Rams: Ross Hammock Ranch offers several species of rams including Texas Dall, Sand Dall, Black Hawaiian, Mouflon, etc.
4 Horn Ram: Also known as the Jacobs Ram, may be taken at Ross Hammock Ranch.
Scimitar Horned Oryx: This beautiful and rare member of the antelope family may be hunted year round at Ross Hammock Ranch. They are large in stature, and excellent eating.
Exotic Mountain Goat: Various species of exotic Mountain Goat may be hunted at Ross Hammock Ranch.
