This hunt is designed to give both of you the memories to last a lifetime. Can you imagine the memories you would have had if your father had a place like this to bring you to. You will not only have the benefit of all the excitement of a wild western style elk hunt in absolutely gorgeous mountain country, we will also help teach your young hunter about hunting, safety, and the ethics of a gentleman hunter.
This was initially designed as a father / son first hunt, but it is growing in perspective. Grandfather / grandson, single mothers' sons, the first time hunter. The goal of the school is the same. We want to teach top quality hunting ethics and skills in a very safe and structured environment. We teach that the journey is the most important part of the adventure. A hunt is only an excuse to take the journey into the unknown. From the moment the arrangements are made, (One step beyond the decision to go) till the day you return home, each and every moment between is the hunt. The hunt is not just a dead animal in the freezer, or the frustration of not finding something. We strive to install something a little greater. We teach reality and realistic goals. We start with some reading and preparation prior to the trip west through our home study material.
When you arrive we spend almost as much time teaching as we do hunting. We try to get everyone on the right track to spend many rewarding years of hunting. Once a world famous fly fishing personality asked me to teach his grandson to fly fish. I was intimidated with the task and discussed such with him. He informed me that to the grandson he was just gramps, however, I was a mountain man and everything I said would be soaked up with gusto. The grandfather said, if you can kindle the spark, I can take it the rest of the way. We hope to help you kindle that spark. Cow tags are guaranteed. These hunts are very limited.
