Hike through trails and forest roads in the Green Mountain National Forest of western Vermont, and nearby on quiet lanes and byways in the Mad River, White River, and Champlain Valleys from one inn to the next. You cover 8-12 miles a day through ridge-and-valley terrain. Stays are at small inns and B&Bs, most of which are tucked in quiet, scenic spots. On the trail

We get you the inn reservations, provide you with an itinerary, and maps for each day's hike. You pay for lodging and meals as you go, and hike on your own only carrying a small pack, while your luggage is transported to the next inn, never having to drive!

Just to name a few of the highlights you'll visit are secluded Silver Lake, Rattlesnake Point with it's spectacular Champlain Valley view, Robert Frost's summer cabin, fabulous waterfalls, section of Vermont's famous Long Trail, the cozy Warren Village Store, covered bridges, and historic Middlebury. There are many options available to choose from depending on ability and conditions of the terrain at the time.

Each night's stay is at great little inns and B&Bs, such as the Churchill House Inn near Brandon, Blueberry Hill Inn in Goshen; the Waybury Inn in East Middlebury; the West Hill House B&B in Warren; the Crystal Palace B&B in Bristol, or the Huntington House in Rochester. Dinner is usually at the inn or a local restaurant nearby. The order of the itinerary will depend on availability of the inns at the time you want to come, so no two trips are entirely alike.

Notes:
Trip cost:
$100 per person/per day for 2 to 3 people. Singles, and larger groups need to be priced separately.
This includes getting inn reservations for you, providing you with an itinerary and maps for each day's hike, transporting your luggage, shuttling you to/from trailheads and other places (when needed), and pick-ups and drop-offs at Burlington, VT Airport or nearby train/bus stations (days preceding or following the trip will be $30 per group).

In addition, you pay for all lodging and meals (more choices for you) as you go, and will need to secure your reservations with each inn using your credit card or a check, once we have made them for you. This is in addition to our trip cost per person mentioned above, and usually averages $100 per person/per night. So, for example, a trip for 2 people for 4 nights would cost about $1,600 ($800 for the tour and $800 for lodging & meals). This doesn't include any costs for lunches, etc.
