Patagonia has a special magic. It is a place of breathtaking landscapes, soaring peaks, and thundering glaciers, all waiting to be explored.
The true essence of Patagonia is found away from the crowds, out in the wide open spaces. Places that are wild; where you feel like the only person in the whole world.
Extremely Patagonia treks and expeditions are designed for curious travelers, those prepared to work a bit harder, those who treasure the rewards that come from stepping off the trail and into the heart of the wilderness.
It doesn't matter if you've never done something like this before. With Extremely Patagonia…You Can Do Extraordinary Things.
You unzip the door of your tent in the morning. It still seems so unreal. You're camping on a glacier in Patagonia. A few months ago it was different. You had walked in the mountains, maybe seen a few glaciers from a distance. You'd been to remote places with a group of 20 people and camped a little bit in the wild. But you wanted something different, to visit somewhere truly remote, do something truly extraordinary. Trekking in Patagonia.
Kick. Step. Breathe. Kick. Step. Breathe. You climb higher up the west ridge of Mt. Fierro, the sun just beginning to rise. Peaks line the horizon; the Northern Ice Cap of Patagonia lies below. Back then you said to yourself "I've never climbed in my life; I've only been camping three times. Can I really do this?" Yes, you can. Our Extremely Patagonia expedition will take you to a remote and beautiful place and teach you the skills you need to trek and climb in the mountains. No porters, no pre-made camps, no going where everyone else goes. Just six regular people, two instructor guides, and the adventure of a lifetime.
On the summit now, you pause, soaking up the view, the just-risen sun. You smile, laughing to yourself:
- you can walk on a glacier and know that you're doing it properly
- you can tie yourself into the rope
- you know how to pull someone out of a crevasse if they fall in
All because YOU gave yourself the opportunity to learn
It wasn't always easy. There were days you wanted to quit. Your backpack was heavy; the ground was steep. It rained and snowed and the wind cut you to the bone. But you didn't quit. You pushed on. And it was worth it. It was definitely worth it. You Can Do Extraordinary Things.
