Capt. Scott Hataway enjoys taking hunters out on an early morning duck and goose hunting trip. Because of the migratory waterfowl migrating patterns, which take them through this area, this is one of the best areas in the world for duck and goose hunting. Pintails, Widgeon, Gadwall, Redheads, Bluebills all inhabit our waters. With duck blinds all over the bay and backwater marshes with grass blinds, you're sure to have a good duck hunt. We can accommodate most needs either with a comfortable duck blind or by boat in the backwater marshes.
Capt. Scott guides duck hunts in the back bay marshes of Matagorda Island. Sprigs & Specks can accommodate groups of any size and skill level. Sprigs & Specks offers some of the best waterfowl hunting the Texas Gulf coast has to offer. The waters around Port O'Connor and Seadrift serve as the wintering ground for thousands of birds. The main species hunted are Pintails, Redheads, Teal, and other diver ducks.
What you get when you hunt with us is a knowledgeable guide, a trained retriever, and quality spreads of G&H decoys. You will hunt from our custom blinds located in the best areas of the marsh. I also offer cast and blast trips, which gives you the best of both worlds. You hunt then you fish and it doesn't get any better than that.
