June 13 - 23 (11 days)

A taiga-tundra trip on two rivers beginning south of treeline, then crossing treeline to tundra. Second half of trip on tundra. Route consists of various sized lakes joined by short stretches of river. Very few rapids. Three portages. Eskers and miles of spectacular, white, sandy beaches. Moose, wolves (2 wolf dens), black bear, muskoxen, grizzlies, waterfowl (ducks, geese, loons), bald eagles, boreal and tundra birds. Superb fishing for large lake trout and northern pike. June 27 - July 7 (11 days)

170 miles (max.) on extremely remote tundra river and its tributary. 98% river paddling. Considerable number of easy rapids. No portages. Wide variety of plant communities, wildlife and spectacular scenery. Profuse wildflowers. Rich wildlife featuring muskoxen, wolves (8 wolf dens), moose, grizzlies and a few caribou. Large numbers of geese, ducks, swans, loons (4 species), arctic terns, jaegers, ptarmigan, etc. Also peregrines (many active eyries), gyrfalcons, roughlegs and eagles. July 11-21 (11 days)

170 miles (max.) on extremely remote tundra river. 100% river paddling. Virtually no rapids. No portages. Spectacular variety of scenery, vegetation and wildlife. Abundant wildflowers. Rich wildlife featuring caribou, muskoxen, wolves (8 dens), moose and grizzlies. Also geese, ducks, swans, 4 species of loons, peregrines, gyrfalcons, roughlegs, eagles, arctic terns, jaegers, ptarmigan, etc. Fair fishing for lake trout and grayling. July 25-August 4 (11 days)

Special Beginner's Trip on the tundra for people with little or no previous canoeing experience. The emphasis is on remote wilderness camping north of the treeline, hiking in spectacular scenery including along gigantic treed eskers, and limited canoe travel on lakes and gentle rivers (no rapids or portages). Pristine campsites fronted by white sand beaches, swimming that can rival the Caribbean, good fishing for lake trout and excellent opportunities to see muskoxen, caribou, wolves, moose and grizzlies. August 8 - 18 (11 days)

Medium-sized tundra river with scattered lakes. Many canoeable shallow rapids. Some short portages. Wide variety of tundra scenery with many spectacular sandy eskers and beaches. Caribou often seen daily. Reasonable chance of seeing large herds. Also muskoxen, wolves, moose, black and grizzly bears, geese, eagles, and many other tundra birds. Excellent fishing for grayling. August 22 - September 3 (13 days)

Route follows two smaller rivers through predominantly tundra country close to treeline. Route consists of small to large sized lakes joined by short stretches of river. Virtually 100% flat-water paddling. Some short portages. Very hilly terrain, sandy eskers and beaches. Northern lights. Scattered caribou often seen daily. Also muskoxen, wolves, moose, grizzly, loons, ducks, geese, bald eagles. Good fishing for lake trout and grayling. Guiding-outfitting fees $3055; air charter fees $2040. Total cost: $5095 CDN ($4430 US)* per person from Fort Smith, N.W.T. return.
